Today is my birthday. It’s been a really rough year…here you are to make me laugh and feel like it’s not just me. 🤣😂🤣 The gaming thing…my youngest son is having some major emotional/behavioral health BS going. That child (he’s actually and adult ish) walked into a video game competition in San Jose (we don’t live in San Jose…or even CA 😂)not knowing a soul. I told if he stepped in and it was too much we could leave. He didn’t leave. He competed with kind strangers. The host was amazing. He went in slightly disheveled…he’s struggling…I think the host could tell. The host was amazing to him. He invited him to join their groups online and to come back anytime he’s anywhere near. I would not have stayed. I would have just walked away. I don’t really have social anxiety but I don’t find all the stimulation pleasant. My poor kiddo has such potential when he gets through this time. Thanks for being a little weird and inviting all of us slightly off people into your home. Oh yeah, my old dog passed away a few days ago chasing a mouse. If that gives a little more insight into my emotional stability at the moment. 💔I needed your video tonight. 🌈🌈🦋🦋
You create such a beautiful space here, I enjoy watching so much. And I am always so honored and surprised to see when you choose to make any of my designs, love the new Recalibrate!
You are just the best! You look really pretty in this video, maybe because you aren’t wearing your glasses?? New hair cut style? Love your laugh and your “helloooo”! Don’t EVER change! ❤
Just had to pause 28 min in to observe: omg, you said Uff da!! I've never heard you say this before but it warms my soul so much because with my Norwegian-Canadian heritage, I just grew up hearing this a lot from my mom and aunties. ❤❤❤
Good morning! I’ve always felt a little weird about commenting. I was SO EXCITED (sorry about the shouting) to see that you’re enjoying women’s rugby sevens! It’s the only sport I’ve tried myself. Went great right up until I discovered that I have hyperflexible knees. I became the official Keg Mom during my rugby experience in college. I just love watching it still. Enjoy!
Finding the UV modesty bathing suits was a game changer for me. I'm comfortable swimming again because I'm covered & not turning into a boiled lobster in 5 minutes. Gen Con sounds like zero fun to me too. Too much noise, fries the brain circuits. The idea of it is lovely, and I hope everyone has a great time. All my friends are at Pennsic right now, and while I've loved Pennsic the times I've gone, the idea of going now is like "oh hellz no." So yeah. That. Yay event organizers! It's hard on whatever level you do it on. I always love the idea of cross stitch & embroidery, but when it comes to the actual doing thereof, I've discovered that I am far more of an instant gratification kind of person, hence spinning, painting & that sort of thing.
Happy Birthday! 🎈💐🎈For a second I thought the one yarn color was “Oh Crud”, and thought they could find a better name than that! 😂😂😂 Always great to visit with you. Mosquitoes find me very tasty. I have After Bite pens everywhere. I’ll have to look at the Bite Away. You’ve inspired me to try counted cross stitch again, and now I want to do needlepoint! 😊
Your punch needle looks great ! I’ve only tried the DMC and Valdoni threads , but might do some experimenting with the yarn. I do use the gripper frame and ultra punch needle . Thanks for sharing.
I’ve been watching you from the beginning, or nearly. I can’t fathom how much time has passed. But I’m so appreciative of you and your weirdness. It makes me feel seen and heard. 🙂
I read that hibiscus is a natural diuretic. I have been making myself Tazo passion tea by the quarts, and it really helps, my ankles are usually horribly swollen in our heat here. It tastes good too. Your Riley Harbor looks amazing, mine is stalled.
Amy Beth, thank you for the tip on how you “do” the stitching on your needlepoint. I also like to do the sew method when I cross stitch, but some stitches are wonky. Going back perpendicular to the cloth is something I’ve never thought of! I think that will help the projects.
You should create an Amazon store front. All the things you have recommended over the years I would tots get it from your store front. Love the cast long time watcher first time caller. LOL no one gets that joke anymore
I always enjoy listening to you! I think I could qualify as a yarn and craft santuary due to everything I have re-homed, lol. I love your way of thinking!!
I was always THE ONE who got all the mosquitos bites until I met my wife and oldest kid-I literally will get zero if they’re around. It’s bananas. Mosquitos caused me serious issues my whole life until now 😅
Very much enjoyed the visit. Your spinning is lovely, and thank you for sharing all your work. It’s inspirational. You’re a magical human. I spray bites with perfume. Stings like a cluckerducker sometimes, but I’ve found it does help to take the itch away. Probably the alcohol in the perfume, so dabbing on some white spirits (I’m looking at you, vodka) might do the trick too? Thanks for having me over.
I'm late watching, but do try your local game group. I'm very similar to you in the shyness respect and when I do have the courage to go I'm always so happy. Everyone is very welcoming.
I forgot to mention the Olympic gymnast Fredrick Richard is from my town! (Did I know this fact before my sister who lives in Virginia told me? Maybe not. 😂)
I appreciate YOU, Amy Beth... #verklempt! PS: I think I might need to also acquire that Apothefaery ramboulliet top in the Bryophyte(?) colorway...? And I'm not even a real spinner girl, yet. Darn, it's not on her website at the current moment... LOL, saved for another day!
Ah - am late to the party! I get huge welts with each mosquito bite, without even scratching it. When I take a vitamin B12 tho, they leave me alone. No idea why.
I love your podcast! Happy Birthday from a fellow Leo (7/31). You made a shawl a few months ago. The shape was 3 triangles so that it sits nicely on your shoulders. I looked but can’t find the name of it. It you know off hand, please let me know. Thank you!
@@yarnhoarder awwww, thank you, friend! I must have misspoken. My birthday was at the end of June; I’m an annoying Cancer🧡🦀🧡 That shawl was Susan B Anderson’s Weight It Shawl 2 (www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/yowza-weigh-it-shawl-2)
If we were in the same room together, those mosquitoes wouldn’t know what to do and would probably burst! I, too, am a mosquito magnet and flea magnet which are even worse than mosquito bites….
Hello Amy Beth…I watch your podcast and get entertained every time…keep up the good work! I just wanted to let you know I also enjoy jigsaw puzzles and was wondering if you would be interested in any of mine when I finish with them. I buy 500 piece size puzzles (that is what accommodates my table size) and I usually purchase from an online company called Bits and Pieces. I live in Hamilton County, just a bit north of you and would be happy to meet up at a coffee shop convenient for us and hand them off to you. I can send you pictures of the type I order and you can decide if you might be interested. I usually just end up taking them to Goodwill at some point, but would love to pass them on to someone. Just let me know where I can send photos if you are at all interested. Sisters in knitting, Anna…🙂🧶
I think I found my tribe. You are my kind of person. Just discovered your channel..lots of catching up to do. Thank you for all you do
You are good company! Thank you for always inviting us over. Skeeters or no❤

Hello from Swansea, Illinois.

I like to drink nettle with red raspberry tea leaf and red clover! It’s actually yummy! 😋

Thanks for mentioning the pickle recipes. That made my day. You are one of my favorite people that I look for every year at SSK.

Big hugs, Amy Beth! Thank you.
Mosquitos love me, too! But I have found that using a lotion with peppermint oil keeps them away.
I will have to try that!
❤🤗

Love the fabrics.
Have a great week ahead. Happy stitching ❤
Camaraderie…fitting in without having to work super hard at it.
Working on setting up a local class/social and teared up just before you did - so imma call that an affirmation of the journey! ❤
