Rich people, won’t have this done to them. I am telling you, this is a nail in the coffin of poorer folk tolerating their straitened circumstances. Every turn of this screw, every ripping-up of privacy of poor people compared to affluent (whatever the excuse), is another step to revolution, so don’t do it. Think of it this way - if the HMRC and the police said, ‘We want to,look into rich people’s bank accounts, because they’re likely to be using tax-efficiency measures and we just want to be sure that’s all in order…’, would it be allowed to happen? Would it fk. That’s what a fishing expedition is - ‘We’re checking just in case’. My earnest advice to govt is don’t do it.

So for instance if you have a ceiling level of say £10,000 then for every thousand pounds over that level they take £50.00 off the pension.
The pension should be not called benefit it. Has accumulated over time by contributions when we started paying wages were low costs have caught up and tax threshold way too low the scheme needs more funding and paying in increase tax threshold take pensioners. Out of tax

If you're below £16,000 in the bank while claiming means tested benefit you're below £16,000. Never having exceeded £7,500 in the bank doesn't suddenly magically exceed £16,000. So if the DWP query this transaction or that transaction in your bank account, i.e. give proof of what you spent with a withdrawal on X date and another on Y date, does that mean you have to post all of your receipts to the DWP?
@@DavidHart-s6y I would have thought logically that if your next benefit payment went into your bank account put you just above the £16,000 limit, then you use the benefit payement as you have to it wouldn't count as you exceeding the £16,000 limit and you continue to receive the benefit, but if you already exceeded £16,000 in the bank before the next scheduled benefit payment (if you have been claiming it) went into your bank account, you would not be entitled to benefit payment. Talking logically, I would imagine that The DWP would expect you to use your benefit payment soon after receiving it, an early withdrawal to bring your balance back below £16,000 would not be seen by them as you withdrawing it just to continue receiving it, even if receiving the benefit payment puts you just above the limit.
