So lovely, just the whole thing. I love and I’m so inspired by the half sheets and weaving them in the signatures. Thank you so much for sharing your creativity with us! Looking forward to a final flip through! (With Hot Beverage at hand 😆)
@favoritegigi5723 thank you Gigi, for joining in and commenting during the collaboration. I hope you will share your creation with us. Keep crafting kx
I am so in love with the way that you tore the signatures in half and have all the raggedy edges intertwined with each other. I love it so much! Despite your loss of files which I know is so frustrating, you did such a great job. I might make myself a cup of hot chocolate to celebrate with you as I watch your flip through when you do it. ❤️
i would like to learn more about tab binding. I've done it where you place a strip of fabric between each page, but the tab binding is new to me. Using elastic for the signatures is a good idea because it's a way to make it tight enough so that the signatures don't move around too much and yet because it's elastic, you can remove the signatures if you want to. I think you did a great job filming and thanks for taking the time to film during your vacation.
@JodiLewisCreations wow, I am surprised you haven't done it. You will love it, once you get your head around it. It maybe a little ... ummm ... untidy at first. I purposefully did some of these pages at the squiff to demonstrate what happens and because in this journal that can work - but I lost that in the dissapearing footage and will re-explain on the flip through!
@@Kraftingkirstin I still cannot believe you lost the footage. I suppose that is one of the risks we have with filming! I have deleted segments before, on accident. It is so frustrating. I definitely have tab binding on my list.
I absolutely love the staggering of the pages, wow, will definitely like to see the tab biding looks super nice to do.... A QUESTION plz.... can you do that binding with full pages as well??? I have wanred to do the elastic finishing of each section as the binding into the cover, this looks lovely, but now i am unsure i can do it for this #OctHygge2024 collaboration as i have already got my cover done and my spine in not like your one..... i have so enjoyed your entire process it has been really lovely to watch and learn from Thank youuuuu so much 😊⚘️👌
@judyventer7737 hi Judy, firstly thank you for watching and joining in this collaboration. I have really enjoyed your comments. To answer your questions. For an elastic binding you don't need to do a hidden spine, I just chose to. It must however be a nice stiff spine. I have made tn covers before out of thick leather (off cuts from upholsters), and for that I always make sure the TN's have thick card covers so it doesn't all become a squishy lump. Tab binding can be done on any size of page you just need to beware of where you place your hinges. You can use 5 hinges if you want to do narrow ones and 3 for thicker ones. If you are doing it for a whole signature, start at the inside and build up towards the outside. I will look at doing a smaller journal to demonstrate the technique and pitfalls better. I will also talk a bit more about it in my flip through. Happy crafting Kx
