So you need two of the same systems. There are two versions. They just need to be the same version. Control Pod Y Splitter Cable Compatible for Logitech Z-5500 Z5500 Dual Subwoofer System a.co/d/g0cK3In
Hey good day, I received the subwoofer alone from a friend, none of the other speakers, however I also have a separate surround sound system with the amp that came with that system connected to my computer, I was wondering if I could use those cables to connect those surround speakers to the built in amp on the z5500 subwoofer to use from my computer
Short answer. Yes. The long part is if your surround sound amp has low voltage “pre outs” or if you can connect to the RCA outs via an adapter cable as long as they are outputs for RCA or even better if you have a pre out for an extra subwoofer 🔊 addition. So if you have any of those you can take the one center cable in that harness which is for the sub woofer (center signal doesn’t work in the harness) then you’ll notice your subwoofer is at FULL volume at all times so I hope you can control the volume through your surround sound amp. The last down side is it’ll always be power on. So I would plug it into the extra amp power outlet if you have one and if you don’t you’ll need a smart outlet which they can usually be control via pressing the side button or if you have a smart home like Alexa. So then you would just have to set it up. They can also be accessed via wifi through your phone and an app. I hope this helps. Lots of steps to cover all the issues. =]
Hello! I want to ask what the system should be connected to a computer or because I connect it to the phone but it does not sound like it should I have to buy a cable or I do not know if you can explain to me how it works I will be grateful
Hey, the cable adapter replaced the pod if it is broken. From there you have the three stereo headphone Jack style inputs. You can use the analog volume dials. There will be three. Otherwise the system will be at full volume all the time. You can use your phone or input device that accepts the head phone Jack input. I used a 1x male to 3X female headphone Jack cord. From there you can plug it into a computer or anything else that accepts the cable. However your center speaker will not function. I have tried a few different things but my assumption is that the center speaker is control digitally which is why the analogue input don’t work. But that’s just an assumption. So it’s a 2x stereo with a sub woofer. Does this answer your question? I assume you have the adapter. Because when I plug it directly into my phone it doesn’t work. The green jack. But the sub does. If I try the others they will only work the stereo speaker’s. So the second adapter allows everything to work at once. Accept the center speaker like I said earlier. Let me know if this helps or if you can explain it again I might be able to better understand.
so I have three cables green and black and orange and from the front I still have three jacks so I have three cables on both sides but I connect the three cables on the back of the control panel and the other 3 jacks I can't connect them to the phone so I put only green but it doesn't sound right it makes a sound I asked a few people and they told me that the buffer probably can't be sugary and that's why it doesn't sound right
@@WARRIOR_OF_JESUS okay, I got something similar. For me the orange cable controls the sub and center speaker but the center speaker only works when connect to a computer that can read the audio data and play it direct. so I believe. In short it needs a direct audio connection like that found on the computer which plays encoded audio. That being said of you get the adapter I have you can still use the system. The 1x male headphone Jack to 3X female which will give you 2x stereo and the subwoofer will work. From there you could get a Bluetooth adapter to be wireless. Being it’s a cell phone this could be a nice feature.
@@WARRIOR_OF_JESUS then you are set. The stereo output from your phone will give you a 2.1 sound depending how you look at it because the rear will speaker’s sound will be duplicated. Hello. I am creating my own home theater system. How would you connect this sub to a receiver? My receiver has every possible input so. I appreciate your time.
If it’s just the sub that you have you can get the pod by-pass kit. If you have the speakers that connect to the sub and no pod it’s the same deal. I hope your amp has the power outlet on the back for additional powering of hardware. If it does it’ll turn the sub on when it is on and and vice versa. Having the amp will also allow you to add additional speakers power via it.
@@803Garage I have the Pyle PTA66BT.5-U-A and I bought another set of the speakers the sub would originally come with if bought as a set. Those speakers are amazing. I am very bad with this stuff (just admitting the truth) I would have no idea how to connect this (pod-bypass-kit) from the sub to the receiver. I will not be using the pod (brain of the system) just the sub. I searched for videos on this can't find anything. Thank you for answering me though.
@@803Garage What about this... What I connected the bypass cables to the sub, then, (from which ever connection (green, yellow, or black) you will need to tell me which one (please) using a 3.5mm female to female adapter and a 3.5mm to aux to the sub out? What you think?
I tell you, the money I would have to spend to use this subwoofer (which I still have to buy) should just get an actually today sub. But I hate the way these new subs sound. I like clean crisp speakers and bass. I hate distortion and thumping. Like I listen to these kids cars they are cranking the bass up so loud it sounds awful. Maybe just me. I personally don't know how they like it like that. Bass sounds better when its clear (I can't explain it I guess) and this sub from the Z5500 just massacres them all.
@@therightsphoenix1111 you are correct on all accounts my good sir. I used to be that kid LoL …. I would have punched myself in the mouth and once I had my attention I’d teach the young me a few things about bass and how things should sound. =]

I would check all connections and pins. Make sure only one device is connected but switch the sources if one doesn’t change anything. Make sure everything is perfect and only use one device at a time after checking everything. Sometimes the pins get folded over. Let me know. I’ll also be asking a friend. This might need a deep dive into the electrical components.

Ok this is exactly what I need but where did you find that cord??? I've looked on amazon??? Help!
