This is such a beautiful song and it made that scene in Rookie Blue even more emotional than it already was. I bawled when I saw Andy crying and knew right away that Jerry didn't make it. It's definately one of the best shows.
Saw the Rookie Blue's episode and it made me cry :( My uncle was a police office killed in the line of duty so it hit home :( Love this song for that moment
Came here after digging through an old hard disk of mine. Had never seen the video to this beautiful music until now. Ah, the joy of rediscovering old gems (:
From my perspective, Rose Cousins is the most important Canadian songwriter in the last decade to come up from wherever such gifted people spring. Previous to her arrival, only Ron Sexsmith has caused my consciousness to stir with similar gladness in the previous 'generation'. God this woman has gifts. Her voice is like rain entering the soil, everything comes to life!
First time I saw her live my jaw dropped. It was a festival about 7 years ago and I was not there to see her, but was so happy I was at the right stage at the right time
I am with you 100% Swede. I have to thank the pandemic for Rose and the slew of East Coast Canadian artists that I have had the pleasure of discovering in the last year. It was via a tweet about Catherine MacLellan and her stunning album Coyote that started my EC journey and led me to a Nova Scotian artist called Terra Spencer. It was actually Terra who suggested that I check out Rose's work and she just blew me away completely - bought everything I could find of hers almost instantly. If you like Rose, Swede, have a listen some of Terra's work though. She is one of the most naturally gifted storyteller that I have heard in years. May I humbly suggest finding "In the City" as a starting point and see where it takes you. I trust you won't regret the effort.
I break where you bend I take what you send We both pretend But I start where you end When I say, you know When I fall, you go I row this boat Too fast or too slow You've got one way I've got one way I break where you bend I take what you send We both pretend But I start where you end
I can’t believe that I’m only just hearing this amazing voice now! I’ve grown goosebumps upon goosebumps!! At this time 11 people have disliked this video. Those 11 people are very, VERY wrong!
I just love all it takes with royale wood, i love it, its amazing the feeling from the piano playing then the feeling in your voice while your singing, and the man adding his own bit of magic, i love your singing and playing
Took me forever to find this only knew the lyrics, and no matter how many times i typed them into google i couldnt find it! so annoying glad im here at last :D x
glad to know im not the only one who hunted down the music of that episode. God, whyyyy jerrryyy? :( I felt that something was off when he said the line about the gift being bad luck. Gimme some time to go sit in a corner and cry now. :'(
Like "Weapon" from Matthew Good's Avalanche (2003), "One Way" from Rose Cousin's We Have Made A Spark (2012) embodies a depth of sincerity, intimacy, and intensity that musically epitomizes the highest level of human emotional maturity.
and she's from Canada....gooooooo CANADA! :-D she's originally from the East Coast, amazing how the accent is lost when people sing; and I saw Rookie Blue for the first time last night and this song was at the end and I had to find out who sang it so I googled the lyrics. There was another song also earlier in the show, and I liked it, but just don't know any words so don't know who sang it...unless it was Rose again....?
Wonderful performance and song (no surprise; you are wonderfully consistently wonderful). But this is the first time I've ever seen a 27' Steinway grand! I didn't even know they made a piano that long. (What's that you say? It's the camera angle? Well, ok, then.)
Caught her in concert with Mary Chapin Carpenter at the Florida Theatre a few months ago. Do yourself a favor and see her live. you will be amazed... and funny now this girl is funny
Povero Jerry....piango ogni volta che ascolto questa canzone. Ha dato la vita per salvare Gail....povera Tracy :'( :'( e cmq il sensitivo le lo aveva detto: "Tu non sposerai quell'uomo!"
"Tiny Little Things" Episode 8 on Netflix brought me here. This song is so beautiful.
Pretty Little Things - thank you for the introduction to this track, simply beautiful vocal.

You've got one way

Katie Costello -- "Stranger" -- sung while they apprehended Ross Perick and found Gail in the trunk of that guy's car.
@@annepotts8585 Oh wow thanks! You have quite a memory. I posted this 10 years ago!! I can't even believe how long ago it was - another lifetime. :D
