As a Spanish who never in my 30 years of life have ever seen my country getting 12s and making to the top, I have to say this was so emotional. I could not stop screaming of pure joy and pride! Spain is a country which use to get embarradsed of itself, so this time that we received recognition, all the country was at home with friends in front of TV, celebrating and feeling proud for once. This 3d place has been really emotional for Spanish people and these days everyone here looks more happy and proud of its country ✨
Im with you there from the UK too. Hearing those immortal words had me screaming XD I was so happy seeing how the UK and Spain were back up at the top instead of being down at the bottom :)
Se anda hablando de los votos retirados por una posible irregularidad y que la organización otorgó a su "antojo" lo cual daría a España al segundo lugar en vez de la tercera posición por delante de reino Unido. Esto deberían aclararlo lo más pronto posible. Lo de Ucrania como en 2016 con Jamala , algo politizado por una situación que no debería ser aceptado en Eurovisión. No digo que no se apoye al pueblo ucraniano. Otra cosa es la hipocresía, de hacerlo con una victoria que después de ganar, uno del grupo ucraniano dedico a Ucrania, muy noble y pidió apoyo a dos ciudades ucranianas, que Rusia esa misma noche bombardeo con un mensaje para este cantante en las bombas que lanzaron. Creo que no ha ayudado esto más que para encender más está violencia injustificada. Por ello creo, que debió estar Ucrania fuera del certamen este año.

the pause after switerzlands televote was due to everyone in the greenroom toasting to marius and sam ryder went over to hug him (marius put it on social media, its heartwarming). all the contestents also toasted to the other artists who scored low, it was really beautiful to see everyone supporting each other.

All the balads were quality songs, but there was too many of them (6 in the finals) and this year Europe didn't want a sad song. That's why Moldova hit like a train.
You guys should totally watch the full Eurovision 2021, IT WAS ICONIC.

It is beautiful and cruel at the same time about Eurovision that public voting can change everything.
To be fair, we knew the televote was going to be high for Ukraine. We just didn't know it was going to be that high lol.
And unfair , prevailing one awfull situation that should be not conected to this contest. Insay unfair cause It takes to the ground months of preparation of the show and song. It makes no sense celebrating such a contest when we are already affaid of what the public would vote due to this absurd war.
@@zangangi People say that every year yet the Eurovision Song Contest always ends up being political. Even the Jury Votes are political, notice how Greece and Cyprus always exchanges 12 points?
At the end of the day, how "good" a song is highly depends on a person's subjective perspective. Stefania isn't the best song on it's own, but knowing it's a song sung by a son to his mother who is now probably stuck in the middle of the warzone, that makes the song a lot better.

Europe has wanted give their support to Ucrain people by one Víctory in Eurovisión as with Jamala 2016. Another point is the supposed irregularity of juries votes from six countries which would have awarded to Spain yo second place . Thats unfair what It has to do with Ucraine and lack of respect during months preparation for all singers and countries. And second what us related to this juries votes changed thats cheating clearly to all fans . Unforgetable. Euroshit song contest this year for those two aspects

For a country to get a point, they have to be in the ten most voted songs in that country. For example, if Belgium is 25th with 38 televote countries, and first with one country, they got 12 points. But if Belgium get 11th with every country they end up with no points. So Switzerland with 0 televote points doesn’t mean no one voted for them

Serbia has got avangard artistic song with very deep multilayered meaning. There's was no such entry in 66 years of Eurovision. People were glad that they got something new and refreshing. Serbia is known for powerful ballads, ethno or pop songs. Serbs felt it is time to send something new. This entry surprised everyone. Konstrakta is underground singer that was not mainstream and shocked everyone by land slide victory in national final. She just wanted promote her song, didn't expect to win. Check this year Serbian runners up Sara Jo "Muškarčina" and Zorja "Zorja". Great songs. Also check Serbian Eurovision songs 2004 (2nd place), 2007 winner, 2008 (6th), 2012 (2nd), 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019,2021
In case you didn't notice, the lady who gave Ukraine's jury scores at 5:45 is Kateryna from Go_A - who sang Shum in last year's contest 🙂
In fact, several previous Eurovision contestants were giving out Jury points on the night. You recognised Tix, and Greece also had their singer from last year giving out points. Remember their green screen disaster? The lady from Iceland (Arny) is Dadi Freyr's wife (the tall guy who sang for Iceland). Oh, and the Irish lady was Linda Martin, who won in 1992 - the first of four wins in five years for Ireland in the '90s.

Eurovision is the biggest party of Europe and friends. Every year the people fu@k the jury and this is insane, love it! ❤️😂😂 We all around the Europe voted for Ukraine! The competition is artistic friendly and united people, not a battle! Everyone is just happy to participate! 🤗 And the winner is the winner of all of us.

This actually makes more sense when you look at scores from Semi Finals (they upload those after the finale). Azerbaijan and Switzerland were pretty much saved by the Jury votes, but Televoters didn't really care. They were pretty much pulled from low non-qualifiers by high Jury votes. That's why at the finale they got even less points from Televoters.
It's always so cool to see how people react to the points. As a Norwegian, I have to say seeing the whole of Europe vote for Ukraine (they got almost max televote points from most countries) was incredible to watch.

Idk, what is that gonna do? Keep this contest neutral and fair because let's face it Ukraine wasn't the best. It was pitty votes. That is not what this contest should be about. Everyone worked their ass off for nothing pretty much. If you wanna support Ukraine, donate or something.

It was a sign of saying we stand by you which of course is a good thing and we should be on their side and give them our support, but I personally still think it was a bit unfair to the other contestants. They havent had a chance from the beginning.
The televote result for Ukraine was the biggest in Eurovision history: they got 439 out of 468 available to them. Out of 39 countries, 28 gave them 12 points, 8 countries gave them 10 points and only 3 countries gave them lower than 10 (7, 8, 8). The European public was united that night and it was BEAUTIFUL.

The most shocking I guess was Azerbaijan, not in the final but in the semifinal, they got ZERO points from the public and still made it to the grand final... juries like good vocals, people want something more than that.

@@camzy3003 Yes, I agree, for me Krystian was the best male vocalist this year, but I think that the high notes that Nadir reached impressed the juries more... Also Sheldon was in the Top10 of the juries and if you look, both Nadir as Sheldon had a more "simplistic" staging, perhaps that influenced.
You can tell who is european by looking at the reactions to Moldova. Like Europeans will love the song and everyone else we be likr WTF
the revamp was genuinely so strong, that was easily non-qualifier when the MV was released
The voting is just... full of emotions and so tense when you have a favorite. I always feel bad for those not getting any points. It's important to remember that it doesn't mean people didn't vote for them. I'm sure someone else have explained it better but I think the public votes are remade into some sort of percentage to give out the same point system that the jury votes give out? Which means it's only the top 10 songs in each country that can get points (points 1-8, 10 and 12) and those that are not in top 10 from each country ends up with 0 points. It's a cruel game when you think of the artists sitting there with dreams of winning.
I understand and can get behind why Eukraine got the public votes. It was a beautiful thing, so touching. My heart and soul is with them. I really liked their song a lot but it was not my winner. After everything was said and done I'd say Sam Ryder was my winner. That's a song I can easily listen to again. I usually go into Eurovision never hearing the songs until the competition. First impression counts for me. I had heard a lot more of the songs this year because of your reactions!
Because I've never said it... This year... if I HAVE to choose only 10 songs in the finale it would be (in no specific order) and because I really liked them on that ESC stage which doesn't always mean I will listen to them outside of Eurovision. It's strange but some songs for me works there but not afterwards. It's the feeling of the night and how the songs blend together. Some good songs simply don't stand out while others do. Anyway my 10 choices: Spain, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Estonia, Moldova, Eukraine, UK, Finland and actually... Sweden. It was my choice in our Swedish competition to send Hold me closer so yeah, I really like that song.
UK was my winner for the whole thing but I confess... I did spend all my 20 votes for my Finnish band. See it's not easy to be fair when choosing. I voted for nostalgia and my joy of seeing them again and of course I thought they put on a good show.
At least UK won the singing part of the 'song' contest.
For the public vote it's normally the songs that stand out that get lots of votes. I think a lot of countries suffered because there were so many ballads this year. So countries like Serbia, Moldova, Ukraine really stood out a lot.
I was in the audience! I was a fan of both the UK and Ukraine, as well as Portugal, so I was very happy with the outcome (I'd have been even happier if San Marino, my favorite country to support every year, was also in the final, but...oh well...). Glad to see my fellow Americans appreciating Eurovision too! Cheers from NYC!
3rd place is good. But I wish to see Spain win at least once in my lifetime. Sometimes I feel like even if we try the hardest, it's just a try. Ukraine was going to win this year no matter what, I knew it weeks before the contest. It's all political voting, except from Australia maybe. The important thing is to accept it, enjoy the music and that they are all winners in out hearts, it's the best we can do. Congratulations Chanel.

I like the song, I'm romanian living in Florence, Belgium was in my favorite list and i love the sensibility of the singer. Finally we make emotional votes, last year I was totally for Måneskin and this year for Ukraine! And I feel like the winner is the winner of all of us! United.

This Eurovision finals stage is likely the biggest any of them will appear on in their entire life. So it is a big deal for them, whatever points they get.
I understand and expected Ukraine to win but we should've kept this contest fair and neutral. We all stand with them but handing them a win to show support doesn't seem fair to everyone else who worked very hard. There are alot of better songs, I'm sorry.

someone who has watched properly since 2012 I've never seen UK get so many points as they did via the first 10 countries - it was insane night, very well deserved jury winner and I'm happy with 2nd place.

this voting wasnt as shocking as 2021 was. 2021 will forever be one of the most shocking and most epic votings in ESC recent history. What is also important to say is that we the public dont always share the opinion of the juries like for example with Moldova in this case or Finland last year. You really have to watch the voting of 2021.
In my opinion Spain should have won it... I dont dislike Ukranians song, it was a good song, but we all know what reason also influenced the public vote.
Maybe you should rename the video to full results* since this isn't only the televoting :)
This year 6 countries in second semifinal were accoused of irregularities so their points were made up by EBU in final. So Spain would end up second and UK third. Their top points EBU gave to Ukraine unfortunately because it was sympathy and political move.

Maro from Portugal with "Saudade, Saudade" did the best production job in every aspect.
For this reason, she was considered by the Press as the 3rd best (after Spain and England), the national judges placed her in 5th place and finally she was only in 9th place because we all knew who the largest number of votes from the public would go to.
She was also the favorite of Laura Pausini, Diodato, Konstrakta, Monika Liu, Amanda Tenfjord, Siga, Beta og Olin, Mia Dimšić, Vladana, Andrea and of course others.
The word Saudade, so unique and so Portuguese, was understood and felt in the hearts of thousands around the world.
Portugal likes to share with others the cultural riches that make us proud and extol.

Notice the boos in the arena when Cyprus gave Greece 12 points. That's always an unpopular political vote every year ...
To be fair we had some other political votes, but this one is the most annoying, because they NEVER voted for someone else. The only instances when it doesn't happen is, when one of them are not in the Finale (but even then the eliminated one will still vote).
When it finally happens and both of them don't have 12 points for the other. That probably will be groundbreaking moment.
Kinda like France not featuring Eiffel Tower at all (either in their staging or the Points presentation).

UK was in top 3 for the first time since 1998 I believe, so this is a big success, especially after last year's 0 points
Spain also gained much this year, because they were really low in last couple years
@@TLorza But they were 10th in 2014 and 2012 + had 4 top 10 results in a row at the beginning of this century, so they weren't as bad as UK
The UK was top 3 in 2002 too but yeah still shitty record. So happy for them and for Spain

439 points is an average of 11.25 points per country, or to put it another way, the maximum any country could get was 468 points, they dropped a total of 29 points total, 29…only country to give them less than the 8, 10, or 12 was Serbia, who gave them 7, Europe truly was United behind ukraines plight and were willing to show their solidarity with them, and help them live some form of joy, no matter how small or insignificant it turns out to be, the only thing we as voting citizens could do really
and only three countries gave them less than 10.
Such a shame this years Eurovision was ruined due to pity and politics. Hopefully a song country will win next year due to having the best song, rather than because they are at war
