    Hi Nick this is Mike we just met in the fish dock, I think you said somewhere that your charger doesn’t show the engine battery voltage, your charger should be connected to the engine battery if it has a terminal for both banks. Hope to see you out sailing soon. Mike

    Great video, thanks for sharing. I'm in a similar situation myself, about to fit an IP22 on my boat, but trying to figure out cable size is a bit of a nightmare! It looks like you've oversized the cable by a fair bit? Can I ask what size cable you used? I've calculated I need 6mm2, but have gone for slightly bigger 10mm2 grade DC cable, but thinking should I go bigger again?

      I think I used these cables amzn.eu/d/acd5tjq

      Actually that was what I used for my solar, here is the Amazon wire link I used for my mains battery charger amzn.eu/d/0sZcT0d

    Hi there, have you experienced the battery get very hot? I have just got one for a coffee van and was slightly worried about where to have it in the van / leave it plugged in overnight as I have heard they get quite hot

      I have not experienced this now, all been good 👍

    Great video, thanks for that. Just a question, are your two batteries the same technology or different? I mean, both lead or one lead and one lithium?

    • @SailingSeaStar_
      @SailingSeaStar_  5 місяців тому +1

      Both are lead acid

      @@SailingSeaStar_ Am I right that the charger would not be able to laod two different bat types?

      As far as I am aware, official writing is: Victron Energy chargers typically require all batteries to be the same chemistry type and compatible with the same charge algorithm. This means that Victron chargers may not be able to charge lithium and lead acid batteries at the same time

    What do you think about the "wings" created on the terminals produced by the crimper?

    • @SailingSeaStar_
      @SailingSeaStar_  6 місяців тому

      Not the best perhaps 🤔 Redbull like wings 🤣

    Questtion on this MPPT controller. I hae 2 house to start batteries on my boat. Got to the boat and app said they were floating. Showed 20v from 2 100 watt panels 0 amps. When my boat is running my battery monitor shows -1.59 amp draw? Why? The voltage is 14.8 from motors. Shunt is installed correct to a neg bus bar. All house loads are off during readings. This also has a ACR

      I’m not that clued up tbh on these things but when I reached out to their support they got back to me within a day, may be worth asking them. Cheers Nick
