Glad you enjoyed the video! We were there from May 20-25. We only really had one day were it was completely rained out. The rest were isolated storms only lasting anywhere from a few minutes to an hour. The main issue was the wind, which was pretty constant for the entire trip. The wind was the main thing preventing us from going in the water, as it made the sea very choppy. But regardless of the weather, it was a perfect trip and you'll have an absolute blast!

We were super excited to finally be able to go, but we were scared it was going to be 5 days of nothing but hurricane weather. Glad to hear it varied a little bit. thank you for your input...what I find shocking still..is the hotelroom prices...I mean ..ok. Maldives..but still...anyway.. be it as it may...I do have a similar attitude..with go off season if you can..and you get a DIFFERENT experience..that might wonderfully stand out amongst all your holiday experiences.. ;)
Yes it is definitely expensive regardless of the season you go. But that attitude is perfect, even if you have bad weather it can still be amazing. Sometimes you get the best experiences when things go wrong.
Eines sollte man auch bedenken: Gerade in den Sommermonaten haben viele Familien Sommerferien - Das heißt es ist nicht nur günstiger für euch, sondern günstiger für Familien mit laut brüllenden Kindern. Und leider muss man sagen, dass sehr viele Eltern absolut NULL darauf achten ob ihre Kinder die teure Ruhe anderer stören oder nicht. Sie sind es gewohnt das ihre Kinder ständig schreien. Es ist ihnen egal, wenn man selbst Ruhe möchte. Es gibt bei AdultsOnly wenig Auswahl. Aber wenn man weniger Kinder um sich möchte, sollte man lieber die Ferienzeiten meiden. Ich persönlich kann Mütter die unbedingt mit ihrem 0-3 Jahre altes Baby/Kleinkind auf die Malediven müssen wirklich nicht verstehen! Der Flug ist für das Kind und alle Passagiere schon mal die Hölle. Das Wasserflugzeug ist extrem laut! Und vor Ort kann man mit einem so kleinen Kind ja wirklich nichts von der Insel nutzen außer den Strand. Und Sand bekommt man für weit aus weniger Geld überall auf der Welt. Bitte ihr Mamas: Andere Leute zahlen über 10.000€ um einfach endlich einmal im Leben ihre absolute Ruhe zu bekommen!!! Es ist absolut nicht okay wenn eure Kids auf einer ruhigen Insel die ganze Zeit rumschreien. Es gibt so viele Urlaubsorte wo das hingenommen wird. Es muss also nicht auch noch auf den Malediven so laufen, dass eure Kinder rumrennen und rumbrüllen. Denkt einfach mal darüber nach. Denn in dem Fall seid ihr der Störfaktor.
Great point. I think we only encountered small children once on our trip at the JW Marriott Maldives. But we did see a lot of families arrive in Male airport, so it seems some resorts might see more children than others at this time.
There definitely is a rainy / monsoon season from May through November. But it obviously won't be like this the whole time and can be unpredictable. I'm glad you didn't experience any rain during your trip.
