    Used your video to change mine on my 03 expedition.
    Reason the sensor was changed was due to low oil pressure light in auxiliary mode before cranking. Mine is 2 wheel drive so it was super easy to get to and i was able to use a ratchet

    I don’t know how I missed looking for this. Thanks for the video.

    If you have to put your own teflon tape on the threads (some parts come with it already on), FYI yes it matters which way you wrap the tape onto the threads. You want to wrap clockwise as you face the threads, so that when you invert the part, it's wrapped counter-clockwise to the direction you are turning the part (clockwise).
    You have to visually think about this for it to make sense. Maybe take the part, wrap it one way and imagine what happens to the end of the tape while you are holding it in the air, so it's all ready to go, in the right direction, before climbing under the vehicle to install the part.
    The reason why, is if you wrap the tap against the direction you are spinning the part, the tape will unravel while you are spinning it. If you wrap it WITH the direction you are spinning it, the tape will "tighten" on the part and not be a sloppy mess when you get done.
    Not sure if these matters in terms of leak protection, but I do it this way just in case. I learned that this mattered when installing shower fixtures and other plumbing-related parts (copper fittings, etc...). It's an either/or choice, and I decided one way was better than the other.

    Curious as to what made you replace this,.. When my truck is cold, the gauge for oil pressure doesn't move until the truck warms up. Is this where you would start in replacing? It has been like this for a few years now and I'd like to get it fixed. Thank you for whatever your thoughts might be

      I spent a good 40 hours over 3 days just trying to remove the sensor, and then replace it. I still have not got the new one to go back where it belongs. Draining oil, removing oil filter, mere minutes, replacing the sensor, no matter what tools I use, impossible.

    Alright to start off mine isn't by the oil filter it's up under the engine further, it's ford 250 4.6 triton it is leaking from the oil pressure switch. Could it be loose or a bad switch? When the truck is it hot and running it pours out like crazy. I think the guy before me had someone work on it. I've noticed quite a few problems, and mess ups that he did. It doesn't seem like it's an easy spot to actually fix it.

      I'm pretty sure an F-250 was never sold with a 46 Triton not even in Brazil

      @5.43v I had a light duty 97 f 250 5 speed with a 4.6 triton, single cab and 7 lug rims

      @5.43v the truck was extremely rare, I bought it off a guy my dad knew. He would fix his mowers, and tractors. The guy used the truck for hauling fire wood, plowing and just going into town. I bought it back in lime 2014 or around there for $500 with the plow. The box was rotted, and the cab needed some work. I drove it for about a year then the gas tank fell out going over railroad tracks. A full 30 gallon tank at that, and had to use a jack and ratchet straps to get it home. But don't call some a liar when you don't know vehicle's exist.

    What about 5.4 liter triton 4x4 is it the same don't know if you gave a engine size for the expodisition. And does the part come with sealent on the threads or do you have to add more to it? Wasn't offered sealant with it. Thought latex would work then saw the plug and it had some stuff on it? Is that the sealant?

    • @Tylerbone96
      @Tylerbone96 6 років тому +1

      Jay Mccormack just did mine today, I have the same truck as you. It’s the exact same, just a bit of a bitch to do because of the front diff. If you have a skid plate on the front of your truck, take it off, it should be 6 10mm bolts holding it on.

      John Cordova I was wondering the same thing too. I thought it goes in further than that but it doesn't. This is where I found my leak. I'm going to use teflon and try.

    • @Benjamin06267485
      @Benjamin06267485 5 років тому

      YES!! It is teflon. Use 2 to 3 layers before putting the new piece in place. This prevents leaking and a better job.

      No you don't have to drain the oil, don't start the veh. Before doing the job and the oil stays in the oil pan, no mess.

    That is sort of hard to see, as the narative first should show a clear view of where the sensor is, plus the person needs to not mumble, and also have someone else make the video with better lighting.
