American homes have the tactical disadvantage of having the main door open directly into the living room. In Europe most homes, even apartments, have a short corridor between the main door and the rest of the home (usually for hanging coats on the wall). Many homes are organized around a corridor, which starts from the main room, runs through the house, and the rooms open from that corridor. This gives a good choke-point, and they cannot get behind you. I keep a pepper spray to use along that corridor. In a jurisdiction where it is night impossible to get a firearm permit, and taking into account the flooring plan, I consider a pepper spray, especially a long range bear spray, as a very good option. And as most home invaders come to steal instead to kill, it might even make them run away.

For that reason I have 18 inch chunks of hickory axe handle in strategic location around the house. They hit as a hard as a bat and can be used one handed. For a single handed club it's wise to choke up on the grip and leave a few inches hanging off the bottom. The shock of impact can rattle it loose from your grip and it gives you an opportunity to maintain control of it. Know what we do here? Build a proper house with stone. Have locks that deserve the name on your doors and windows. Windows on the ground floor should have bars or secure shutters . Actually lock your doors and windows. That way you won‘t have to think about shotguns or baseball bats. Just saying.
When they come into you're house Im not going to ask them are you to hurt me or are you here to just here to steal they would probably lie to you anyway.
You certainly can miss with a shotgun. At 20 feet the spread is small. Never hunt an intruder. If it’s just you and the wife, get behind the bed, lay the shotgun on the bed pointed at the door and wait. I made a huge mistake and walked the house when we were awoken at night by a noise. I was in my 20’s, strong young dumb and fulla….. anyway I was shaking like a leaf and almost pissed myself. A seasoned criminal would’ve disarmed and murdered me. Thank you! You as well bro🙂 sounds like you are ready and prepared👍
Laser on pistol keeps you from missing 😂
today enemies has keys, master keys & spying cameras in your home/apartment. the enemies wait till you are on toilet, in shower, or sleeping then break in, especially in senior apartments. 😢 I baricade my door with chairs & tables. Some mail men, delivery men are not. Some fire alarms after midnight, are only meant to kill you, in some senior apartment. ❤ I get prayers of protection from Baptist Pastors etc., Get King Jesus Christ & His Armies Angels involved, invited in the battle, invasion, crimes etc. I do not desire to do harm, but i let Jesus win this war of break in for rapes, tortures, stealing &/or death plots. We have a bad maintenance man that gives our keys to his criminal friends/gang. I say no to these bad people saying, let us in your place, let us steal your blessings, give us. God will end their war on USA people. I spoke No.

Every thing in your house can be used as a weapon.
Just about 👍
The wife 😂
United Cutlery M48 Talon Survival Spear with Sheath or M48 Magnum Spear with Sheath
Wow you have insurance for when you use self-defence. Only in America . Everywhere else in the world you just get hung out to dry
Very true in many cases
Know what we do here? Build a proper house with stone. Have locks that deserve the name on your doors and windows. Windows on the ground floor should have bars or secure shutters . Actually lock your doors and windows.
That way you won‘t have to think about shotguns or baseball bats. Just saying.
Good wisdom there. Read decades ago that homes in the US haven't been built to be defendable since the 1920's.
When they come into you're house Im not going to ask them are you to hurt me or are you here to just here to steal they would probably lie to you anyway.
We'll, in shitty countries like South Africa. It's difficult to obtain a firearm license. So one is essentially at the mercy of criminals
You forgot dog. Or dog with baseball bat
Haha not so sure about the dog 😂
You certainly can miss with a shotgun. At 20 feet the spread is small. Never hunt an intruder. If it’s just you and the wife, get behind the bed, lay the shotgun on the bed pointed at the door and wait. I made a huge mistake and walked the house when we were awoken at night by a noise. I was in my 20’s, strong young dumb and fulla….. anyway I was shaking like a leaf and almost pissed myself. A seasoned criminal would’ve disarmed and murdered me. I shouted out that I’m armed and get out now. Nothing came of it except this lesson that I lived to tell.
Very true
Great video! Pretty much agree with it all!
