Do NOT worry about cracking those carbs open. There is only a round gasket (fibre washer) round the fuel inlet screen, and they have never given me a problem in the last 40 years. Get a new fuel filter. Check for pinholes in rusty tanks by going in a dark room then shining a torch into the filler hole. You'll soon see the holes if there are any! I love this project... right up my street!😊
When they were a bit stubborn to start, we used to take off the centre stand and lean the bike away from you. Gives the kick start a bit more travel. Well done to you both.
As a sixteen year old back in the eighties bought a rolling wreck of a BSA Bantam D3. Took the fuel tank off and found similar 'sludge'. Dad used boiling vinegar to clean it out. Then sat it filled with clean vinegar for a week or so. It cleaned out all the gunk and rust!. 🙂 Nice vid, Nuff said.
I loved my old ‘63 TV 200 back in 1970 when I was sixteen. Did a fair bit of mods on the engine, carb, silencer etc all the basic stuff over that year before I switched to cars when I was seventeen. Great memories out with all my Lamby mates! Margate Kent U.K.
@@davebarrowcliffe1289They made them in Spain with those side panels from 1966-1969 according to the book Eibar Lambrettas by Jaime de Prat Salomone. Great book btw
As others said, it's a Spanish made lambretta. I think India bought the tooling from Italy to build lambrettas, but they didn't start importing them to the UK until around 76, if I'm not mistaken. Thats the GP Lambretta
Yeah looks like a Servetta, these are good Lambrettas and its in very original condition, yah man did well there, push it around in 4th gear with the engine off and the clutch may well free off. Good video
Good work Scott. Justin's a top lad too. Check out some UA-cam vids on restoring old fuel tanks..not too difficult to do some electrolysis to remove the rust and coat the inside (otherwise that rust is gonna clog the jets up). ❤
At last your back, well done Scott & Co. at least theres life in it now, nice sort out of the engine/clutch/brakes and your mate will be over the moon, looking foreward to more episodes on this little Gem 👏👏👍👍
There is six lambos in malta car museum dave has not got round to starting them up just got a few runners on museum floor nice ones americans are coming over to uk and shipping them back well done getting old girl going again
Sweet! I had an old one sat for decades like that, frozen clutch. It was a Serveta too. A few pushes up a close by hill, pop the clutch rolling down hill freed up the plates. Thanks for the video.
Great upload Scott. As others have stated Spanish 150 Special. They started importing these when the Italian factory closed, up to that point they had only been licensed to sell to the home market. I had one recently rescued from a scrapyard in Isleworth. Frame & engine numbers should match identically if original. Original colour would probably have been white (or maybe silver, but I’d go with white for a 72/73) Last of the Eibar badged machines before re-branding as Serveta around 74. 🇪🇸
Nice find... Looks Italian but 71 was near the end for Lambretta but there was talks of a series 4 LI then but basically a bitsa of everything that was left but not 100% sure too many rallys the grey matter not the best any more lol. 😁👍
Really enjoyed that ,looking forward to the next one. Gave you a subscription based on this post and after checking your previous posts for scooters 👍Greetings from Latvia...Harry
Spanish Serveta built Li 150 Special, and from.the reg number it's still on the DVLA books so doesn't need a re-registration. Straight forward application for new log book
I think the old two stroke mix back in the 60s and 70s was something like 16:1 if my memory serves me right..I can’t remember if that varied for different makes??
@@CobwebGarage the frame & engine numbers are usually identical on the Spanish made scooters, as you said, the Italians had moved on to the GP range in 1969 & by 1971 / 72 when your mate’s scooter was registered, Innocenti had just about stopped making scooters in Italy.
Stoked to see you uploading more Lammy content and that Special is in really good shape ( minus the sludge ; ) Can I ask where did you get that table/ lift??? ( sorry if you answered this elsewhere but thats proper kit for the job )
First scooter was a Li and cost me a pack of cigarettes 50 odd years ago from a friend got it running in my mum’s kitchen it was winter time and cold outside she was not happy when my father started it up the first time.the good old days

Yeah, there was a part where I was explaining that to Justin....but I edited it out the final cut. Cheers.

Great work getting the old Lambretta started after all that time. It was great to hear her bursting into life again.
Thank you. Yes, very satisfying.

I agree with Robert. It looks like an Eibar (Spanish) Li150 Special. I had a J reg one.
Ah, thanks. A lot of people saying Spanish. 😀
Spanish. It'll probably say 'Eibar' on the horncast badge. I THINK someone has put Italian side panels on it at some point. 😊

Nice to see you back Scott, great video and looking forward to seeing cleaned up, straight panel and running down the road
Yes Shaun, we’re looking forward to the big clean up. 😊 cheers!
Just got my first steel scooter in Detroit and following along. Great video
That's great, many thanks.

It's an Li
It was first registered in the UK in 1971 so how is it possible to only start importing in 76

Cheers.
Well done lads. I’m buzzin for ya. Go get a drink to celebrate.
Hahah, thanks and cheers!🍻
Nice work boys! She’s gonna be a beauoooty! 😎👍👌👏😁
I think so too!
It looks like a Serveta judging by the horn cast Eibar badge. Italians stopped making the GP in ‘72.
Most definitely Spanish...
its an eibar badge pal
@@TheSteelweasel That’s what I said, pal.
serveta is not eibar pal@@heathenbrewer7205

Never try to start it while on the stand, you'll weaken the stand cross member.

I'm sure we'll get to the bottom of it. Maybe after we've cleaned it, we'll be able to read the frame and engine numbers. 🤣
It’s a two-stroke, so don’t forget, there is a brass screen in the tank on the outlet side
Nice job lads.
Cheers Paul!
Wonderful video! Thanks guys. New subscriber and of course, thumbs up!
Great effort lads , the beauty of Lambretta’s 😎❤️👍
Great video guys!! nice to see life in the old girl!

I did a recording session in your garage once, Scott. But who am I? wooooo
Yes, who are you? 🤣

The welded gusset on the engine mount shows if it’s Spanish.
Ah, thanks!
It is a Spanish Eibar model. I had a Jet 200 made in Eibar, with SX side panels, nice motor.
Li special Eibar definitely Spanish

Chuck gravel in any fuel tank shake it around done job. Oh yea empty out the gravel
Give it a good wash plenty of detergent to get rid of all that grease and road muck then strip it right down to rebuild
Looks like someone been making Coffee in the tank
Yes that was weird, didn’t expect that??
Liked and sub’d!
