The national hurricane center has just issued a hurricane watch for all of miami dade broward and palm beach counties will become a warning at 5:00pm this afternoon
Is storm surge how much deeper the water is in the ocean, or, how much further inland the ocean comes? Like is it 6' deeper and spreading far inland, or is it just washing up an extra 6' further inland?
On your next update on the rain totals in western NC, could you identify the cities. We live in Henderson County about halfway between Hendersonville and Brevard. We are preparing for floods, trees down and power outages. This reminds me of the setup from Tropical Storm Fred in August 2021. That devastated Caruso and heavily damaged Canton in Haywood County.
@@solarwind907they are not as accurate as Brad. Forecasting in these mountains and valleys is extremely difficult. The noaa center gives more of an area overview. They did send out flood watches a few hours ago for up to 12” in some areas of the mountains.
@@ricks-excellentadventure2878 usually the local NWS office has the most accurate LOCAL info. I’m talking about calling a local meteorologist on the phone, not looking online, not watching TV. I would bet Brad would tell you the same thing.
