- A look back 51 years ago to 1970 and the construction of the Windsor Separate School Board Educational Resource Centre at 1485 Janette Avenue.
This footage was filmed on 16mm by the late Charlie Fox.
Of all the old film, I have obtained from Mr Fox's collection, this is the only one that he appears in.
I went to st Clare grade school and I actually remember walking down that staircase when I had to go over to the school board with other students to help carry back books to the school! This is great!!
Very cool. Nice to see old locations. Can't help you with the last location.
Love your Windsor videos Mike, hope all is well with you!
Hi Chris, nice to hear from you. Thank you. 😊
Thanks for sharing
My pleasure
i went to st. clair before they sold it grade 4 to 7. and delivered to the school board before they sold that too and the school after they sold that.
Could be the Rooney & Curry area Mike. There's a brown house with a distinct roof in the left back ground that might still be standing and what looks like a 4 story concrete building with large windows in the right back ground at the 4m7sec mark
Maybe I'm watching again now.
My guess is the victory homes are somewhere near Tecumseh and Parent. Those tracks are likely the ETR. It will be a few days until I'm around a computer to really check this out.
Thank you for the feedback. The family of the gentleman who shot the film say it was on the west end. But I can't be sure.
Well you have one permanent object which is the bridge find out where on the map you could get the general view of that orientation of the bridge. Then find the approximate distance away. Then search for railroad tracks and buildings in that area that resemble local buildings that may still be around that are on the video shot of the area you are trying to find.
Awesome vid Mike
Thanks John!
if you have a good scan of a clear frame i will use my photographic memory to come up with a location .lol
Subtle soundtrack - especially at 2:37 !
Charlie was really hamming it up at 2:37.
