- Pat & Mat (Czech & Slovak: Pat a Mat) is a Czechoslovak slapstick stop-motion animated series created by Lubomír Beneš and Vladimír Jiránek for Czechoslovak Television (later Česka televize). The pilot first appeared in 1976, while the second episode Tapety began in 1979. The main characters of the series are two handymen, Pat and Mat, who are inventive but extremely clumsy. As of 2019, 117 episodes and 8 Miniepisodes of the show have been produced, and it has been syndicated in a large number of countries due to its lack of dialogue.

It’s so funny seeing the combination of genuine skill and cleverness with bumbling shortsightedness. Also I died laughing at the wood bricks.
I may be 15 and have not ever known about this show during childhood but it still reminds me of a lost time when kids shows used to be good.
I always liked the concept of these kids shows with no dialogue because every kid can enjoy them and understand what is happening no matter what language they speak ❤️

I haven't seen this show in at least 10 years but it only got more relatable with time
Even as an adult I still loving those series. I'm always so impressed of tiny details, such labels on a boxes, books covers, paintings, ingredients on a pizza etc

I watched this in my Korean household in Canada to learn English (there was a korean copy of these that had voice overs of simple English sentences to help you "listen and repeat" to learn)
Which is funny given the lack of any real dialogue in these episodes.

5:30 last time they made a brick oven indoors (in an episode from 1981) they had the chimney inside so they got smoked by the smoke, but they're not going to let that happen again
