And now we couldn’t be more happy with where we live and with our house! I am German and I live in Grafenwöhr so I grew up around the military houses and we Germans are always wondering what the houses acutally look like inside haha so it was super interesting to see! Also I love how the (to us) normal things like the blinds are so special for Americans haha great video!

Hey! Thanks for the support! Good question. This would apply to civilians but I’ve never heard of anyone not using government housing. The short answer is no, I don’t have a video explaining this, but I’m definitely gonna look into this now and create some content around it. Thanks for the input 👍🏾
What do you mean by rented washer/dryer/refrigerator?? Is this an out of pocket expense? And is this the norm for all military housing throughout germany?
Housing provides just about everyone with large appliances such as your washer/dryer and refrigerator. This is very normal all across Germany and anywhere overseas for military. I had the same procedures as a young officer stationed in Japan back in the early 2000’s. I can’t seem to remember the small rental fee but yes, it’s an out of pocket expense. This is the same layout we have in Mantel!! I love my big living room/dining room!! Just don’t know how to decorate yet!! HHG hasn’t arrived yet!!

Yep… I like this layout. Lots of space! Out of the other areas, Vilseck, Weiden, Graf… which area has the best options for larger homes?
Vilseck & Graf will have larger homes because there’s space in a small town. As you move closer into the city center of Weiden, they get smaller 👍🏾
