Hi Jay! HI Jen! Love the pantry door. I wouldn't cut a hole for a window in that beautiful door. Just find a pretty decorative hook and hang a wreath on it. You can change the wreath for the seasons to keep it interesting. Hubby and I watch you faithfully. We feel like you are good friends. Wish we were neighbors. It would be fun to help you with projects and keep us busy!

Door is so pretty all on its own. I would just leave it. Use the stained glass piece in another situation. Somewhere that will actually let light go through it. That's just my thoughts on it! Looks awesome!

The door looks great although you may need some angle bracing to prevent it from drooping over time.
Might want to add a magnetic latch, But it turned out really nice. Good job!!!

Lol!! What's it called when you stay cramped up in the house during the winter months? That's probably why, but they sound exactly like me and my hubby, lol!! Men should learn that they're not going to win most arguments, especially when their wives are right, lol! It's no wonder why God created us women to be a help mate.

OK suggestion Jay...let your darling wife hang up the window glass on the door...like the old saying goes: it is better to give in than to say no sometimes. Then after a while you can both readdress the window situation. It is a small item and in comparison to ALL the thousands of your decisions Jay on building your love nest CABIN in comparison to Jen's decisions...right??? God Bless you both and BIG HUGS.
I like it! The top shelf can be used for canisters (salt, coffee, sugar & flour or whatever.) i love watching this channel! I wish we could get some snow ❄️ down here!

Maybe it was even duller than your blade, but I have burned the wood with a dull blade. It seems odd that you promote different brands of power stations, but I suppose if they are ok with it, then why not? They likely don't even know as long as they see their brand. They are probably all similar now, but there was a time when EcoFlow was considered best, followed closely by Jackery and Anker... Jackery invented the concept of "solar generators in 2012 and now there is no telling how many brands, but likely built in just a few factories.
I might have used wood glue and nailed from the back. It would have been more work, but I am good at giving advice as long as I am not the one doing it... 🙄
I'm no decorator, but I do build stuff to stay together. That being said, and I have mentioned this before.I personally would have glued the joints, and the border pieces. Makes it So very much stronger!
You should frame the blade and have a story plaque then hang it on your wall 😊

Be careful when you open the pantry now, those cast iron pans will go through the window if you move the trash can. 🙏 But it all looks great.

Just get those white wire shelf insets they sell at Wally World. In the kitchen gadget aisle for stacking plates, you could out them on the top pa they self to double shelf space.

I recently subscribed. I’ve been on a marathon watching your cabin build videos. It’s beautiful!!! Y’all are very entertaining to watch, and very inspiring. We’ve been in our 5th wheel camper for 7 years on 20 acres. I never want to “camp” again. 😆🥴 We originally were going to do a barndominium but changed our minds to go with a small cabin. I just turned 61 on the 8th so I do not want a huge house to be cleaning. The snow is beautiful but keep it up there. I do not care for it down here in Texas. 🥶

Looks great! I think I'd have left the top shelf open. Likely Jen won't get into that much anyway. That way your door would clear your pots and pans and your lights. But it looks great! Nice job.

twist the door a bit other way it will straiten or a clip latch will pull the door the right was very good came out better then i expected
If you use a rag when staining it will be much quicker and you will get a more even color. Put it on then flip your rag to wipe it off, Looks good!

What about the Power outlet? Can anything be plugged in now with the door open or closed? I wouldn't cut a hole in that door. It great without it. I'm really enjoying the videos.
Outlet has 3 inches of space when door is open....good to go. Thanks for being here my friend
An internal cabinet latch would work to hold it closed. I use them on my cabinet doors that don’t close tight. Great job. Looks good.

Looks great!! Fire outside was crackling nice! Another awesome addition to the cabin! I would have Jen hold a piece of 2x4 on top right corner of the door, and close the door tight on the bottom to twist the door to help it close more true.
I was wondering how to fix it.....I'll give that a shot. Thanks

Love the door! I would just hang the decorative glass panes onn front of door. You might want have little latch to keep the door shut tight, other than that, its great!❤

Maybe if you add another shelf just make it half the depth as the others so that you can still place some taller items on the second to the top. Y’all could store extra ammunition up there 👍 The door looks awesome 👏

I am surprised you could get the stain to cure at all at that temp. A hair dryer May coax it enough to all moving it inside though.
We did end up taking it inside for the night and leaning it up near the woodstove. Forgot to film it. 😊

Being a pro carpenter sometimes I yell at the screen watching. But you get the job done and it looks good. You do need diagonal boards . That style of door will sag over time without them. Looks good tho.
I was considering putting some thin diagonal stripping on the back, as there is a half inches Gao between the middle shelves and the door.....might have to add those. Thanks 👍

Hi Jay Hi Jen we really enjoy watching your videos. I see that your dogs have a GPS collar...what kind do you guys recommend? We are moving to our off grid home in a couple months and we are wondering what is best kind of collar. Do you recommend any kind? Thank you
Hey Karla....we use tractive collars for tracking. They work well, but use cell signal instead of traditional GPS....so make sure you have good signal where you are using them.....if not, then probably better going with a more expensive set up like sport dog.....used for hunting dogs and such.
