I heard the song at the end of the trailer on the radio this morning and it jump-started the memory of this. I haven't thought about this for ages, literally over a decade.
I remember watching the teaser trailer for this movie on my "Tigger Movie" video when I was little. The teaser trailer used to scare the shit out of me.
@@tabthecabbit3354 She can be very frightening in the trailer but Glenn Close was destined to play one of disney's dastardly villains. She particularly terrified me during the scene where reverts to her vile old self thanks to big ben but she really did a great job acting in that scene alone.
I watched this movie alot as a kid. More than the first film and animated film. Glenn close stole the show in both films. She really was Cruella Dev il with that look and evil laugh. Seeing that we're getting a prequel and origin story staring Emma stone that feels oddly like Disney version of joker. I'm honestly excited for it. I hope Glenn close makes a cameo. Or at least play an older Cruella in the beginning narration or end.
What they should have done was just have Cruella face a decision of wanting to go either bad or good on her terms and at the end just decide she loves the new life she’d built around the second chance dog shelter and have dogs living with her in the mansion. Or just have her always been evil and really delve into that even further having her more dangerous. And using her past experience to figure out what the dogs are pretty much thinking.
Glenn Close must have been in heaven when she got to cuddle with Dalmatian puppies in her prison cell 0:22 and then got to hold and cuddle with Oddball on the floor 1:14

I would've been more happy if they brought back Roger and Anita or at least explained why Dipstick went to a new home despite the fact that Roger and Anita were planning to keep all 101 dalmatians.
Yeah but part of the point is that operant conditioning as therapy (which we assume she went thru, coz Dr Pavlov/Pavlovs Dogs) is not only hugely problematic for ETHICAL reasons (clockwork orange) but also may not be effective/permanent because it’s just emotional/behavioural TRAINING rather than addressing and treating the actual underlying health issue, which may be trauma or a chemical imbalance. Relapsing shortly after the aversion therapy ended followed by a trigger is a common result.
But yeah. It could be interesting to see Cruella get actual therapy and medication. And then see her go off her meds. Which is a common thing, people get freaked out they’re losing the madness that makes them THEM and then crash and go double crazy.
@@supermariof0521 I mean if she has a chemical imbalance as opposed to trauma then she was never quite right in the first place, and seeing her medicated would be her being functional for the first time But if it’s also based on trauma then you can’t just medicate that shit unfortunately
