My gosh how MCA has changed from the bad boy that he was to the spiritual genuine sweet man he has become in later years-even better a loving and devoted husband and father. What a big change. Like I said my heart broke when passed away of cancer. Rest in Peace MCA you've always been my favorite beastie boy and still is to this day.
Tremure Petrarch and now young man its time to guess which one is your Father. Because until we get the results from Jerry Springer. It's a "toss" up....
In MCA's Case (although a changed man in the later years) it makes me wonder if his daughter will ever find out about this when she's older. but supposed he had the reason to keep this hidden from her and had to be one those let the past be the past sort of thing either that or he does not want to her to do what he did in his past. HMMMMMM! Seems like a caring father to me and I love that.
I have that actual video on VHS still lol!!! I still miss Adam Yauch😥 I fell in love with him as a freshman in high school when I first saw Fight For Your Right To Party, I think it was in 86, I used to refer to him as my husband lol!! I saw them in concert I think that same yr, the Licensed To Ill tour, then I think it was the next year I saw them again with RUN DMC, Together Forever tour I believe it was called, the next time I seen them was when they were on the Lollapalooza tour a few yrs later. I sadly never seen them in concert again, but they're still one of my favorite bands ever!! I finally made it to New York for my 1st time back in Oct 2019, coming back from Canada, and went there purposely to go to Brooklyn to visit Adam Yauch's Memorial Park! Then ended up staying in New York for a couple days just being tourist lol! But it was awesome!!!!

I see people saying that they bet the Beasties wish this video didn't exist. I bet these girls didn't either. I wonder how they feel today knowing this is out there.
Actually they're kinda whatever about it. It happened. Unfortunately, their beef against DefJam more or less buried this entire video. That's why you never see any of the videos from this period on any of their video compilations, with the exception of maybe "You Gotta Fight For Your Right to Party." There was no love lost between them and Rick Rubin when they left DefJam.
i remember when this came out....later on in the video The Boys were cruising in a jacked up Bronco high as fuck, then stopped off at White Castle for cheese burgers...wish the whole video was here

just 2 years later in the late 80s they were away from all this party live style, and actually feel shame of a lot of things from this era, they mature very fast, still cool see all this. Sorry my caca english.
I love the Beastie Boys. But got the feeling at the beginning of this video that this footage felt a little puton or staged. Especially when the women came in. Im saying this because I thought it was gonna be ligit when I clicked on it. Never saw the video before. The cops at the end prooved it. Still a very fun video to watch. Plus Im sure they actually did some frazy shit back then. RIP Adam Yach you are deeply missed! Just got the book and am reading it now. Love the Beastie Boys!
I hope you all know that this "wild party" and the subsequent "arrest" was staged to make this "we're so crazy" video. I've talked to them (and Ricky Powell) about it. If you watch the full VHS, you'll recognize the same girls in the fan interviews.
Yes. Here, I am, lying to you about a single life experience through my perfectly open, personally identifiable online profile..and there *you* are, trolling people from a perfectly anonymous and pointless account. If you want to talk *honestly* about that night on the 1st leg of the Check your Head Tour, feel free to ping me any time about it. I haven't lived a sheltered life, perched behind a keyboard, judging people.. I've gone outside, met people, experienced life. If you try the same, you might discover that other humans (even those who stand on a concert stage under a spotlight for a living) are also human just like you and are not that difficult to approach or talk to about their personal lives. But, my suggestion is to stay where you are, and keep your petty thought process contained.
Crazy days man but hey we all go through it, some wilder than others. In the midst of all of this i keep thinking Mike D is somewhere around there telling jokes and laughing at them himself 😂🤣
Big time. Proof that it is staged: 1 - The music would be so loud you'd never pick up such good audio. 2 - The girls enter all at once and dance right away? No, they'd wander in a few at a time and stand around a bit. 3 - The girls are not talking to each other, or leaning to yell in each other's ears. You kidding me?? 4 - "Most incredible thing I ever felt!' Like that's his first. 5 - Throughout the video, only one thing is happening at a time. 6 - Unless it's a dangerous situation, the police NEVER come in and just grab people. They wander in on a noise complaint, they snoop, they check things, they talk to people, and if it's out of hand they tell everyone to leave. Source: I miss real parties like this.
It does seem kind of staged, especially the end when the cops haul them away. That seemed fake to me. The rest may have been semi-staged to begin with, something like, hey, we're gonna do this to get some backstage footage for videos. But once the girls were brought in I don't think anything was planned out, except the cops at the end.
That damn MCA kicked me in the mouth ( accidentaly) back in '95 or maybe '96 , when they where here down under rockin the stage . man I really miss those days , those real old days B.E.A.S.T.I.E boys
