Why would anyone buy a $30 watch and expect it to perform as a $10k medical device. Why would anyone even expect it too? I have one and enjoy it for what it is.....ready?.....A watch.
I cannot disagree. These companies prey on people's hopes and wishes, and when it comes to health issues, preying on those things for profit is pure evil. Shame on the manufacturers and their false claims. But also if it seems too good to be true, it is too good to be true.
i have one Smart Watch 9 - cant beat if for the money ! really $35 ? this kicks ass for that price. i was at a med center they took my blood-oxygen and heart rate with their expensive equipment,- reading were identical. answers the phone too. CANT BEAT IT AT $35😮
My thoughts on the IW9 as min came in last week: I just got mine. It a nice watch overall, but some things should be fixed in the firmware to make it better. + Good build quality! + the crown has a clicking sound, I personally like that. + UI Design is generally okay, but also not great + Calendar app + Bedside clock actually works (on most replicas the display goes off when charging - even if it switches to bedside clock mode) + Many watch faces in the app + Phone App is not great, but okay + Display wakes up and displays incoming messages - but sadly a bit to short (time not configurable) - Display okay, but sadly not an AMOLED, so it also has no real always-on-display that makes sense +/- smart island is nice but has limited functionality yet - Some watch watch apps like heart monitor, oxygen measurement could be designed better - Some more UI transitions/animations would be nice MAIN CONS: - UI: No access to the stats for heart rate and other health sensors directly. Measurement starts automatically when you access the app and you have to wait through the whole process until the stats are viewed. Measure on tap would be better - UI: Tic Tok button in the dashboard feels misplaced and looks different than other buttons - Notifications clutter: You get some notifications on the watch that are normally not appearing on the phone. Like: „tweet send“ oder in WhatsApp „You have 2 messages“ - this creates a lot of clutter in the notifications - UI: Caller Id font looks very cheap and has no anti-aliasing - No possibility to uninstall default watch faces (some of them are not nice at all). Only ONE watch face is installable. - Language change in English doesn’t work - watch switches to German (app local language, I guess) on its own some time later - I have the feeling it also does not save settings after a restart (deactivated smart island, restarted and the smart island is activated again) - UI: Header alignment in the watch apps (app name and time) not consistent - titles jump in position. Sloppy QC - If you want to read the notification screen stays just couple seconds in the detail view and switches to the full list automatically - No emoji support I hope the producer/developer of this watch reads this and considers to fix all small firmware issues.
I am really interested on the blood glucose. Nice that you are a low carb guy, that means you blood glucose values seems correct what you measure on both devices. I use sometimes the FreeStyle Libre and I also mostly follow a low carb diet and do a lot of sports. If this watches can give us a "reference" of blood glucose, then they are gold. My Dexcom continuous glucose monitor has a little wire attached to my skin. Good results is +-5. But sometimes I get plus 50 even after calibration with finger prick. I think this watch is superior to $3000/yr Dexcom which my insurance covered

Great review. Again this watch also shows very close glucose reading compared to your Gloucester. But can u post multiple test is on glucose for this watch under different situation like fasting, post prandial, high sugar, low sugar etc

I just got one today. The strap from a 38mm apple watch series 3 fits it. It doesn't really lock in snugly but with the watch on tight it won't come off.
I hate needles and extreme phobia about it. I wish the non invasive testing becomes main stream. I am willing to spend money but I don’t think these major corporations will allow it in my life time
I think we'll eventually get there, but it is very complicated light spectroscopy and there are a great many confounding variables. I believe if/when we get a device with FDA approval it will initially be very expensive and certainly not a $20-50 device mass produced in China.
@@DaveTheKayaker These watches need to adopt an open-source operating system and unify the software so each company is not reinventing the wheel when it comes to developing apps, it would greatly reduce the cost to develop these watches and creating a mass spectrometry plugin for the watch would just be a measurement and data problem

This has happened to me as well when I go on the app it does not show me any factory resetting option, instead what I did was I fiddled around with the password putting incorrect options again and again and press back and then try to put the password in again. I did this multiple times and finally somehow when I was going to go back and press the crown it unlocked then you should go to factory resetting it as you cannot change the password because you do not know the current password

I'm not sure what to tell you. In many cases, resetting the watch and rebooting the phone and starting from scratch will do the trick.
