Katie was 18 when she first traveled to Uganda for a mission trip, and she ended up staying for many years, starting a charity, meeting her husband, and adopting 13 girls! I love that they mentioned her marriage and how amazing it was that they met after living so close to each other. Katie's marriage has been my go-to example and encouragement of how God can provide a spouse, regardless of how impossible you think your situation is. "If God managed all that for Katie, the rest of us can be fine, too!"
Her adopting 13 children made me cry. What a beautiful heart and soul ❤

Someone gifted me Daring to Hope in 2018 during a tough health season, and Katie's book reached a deep place in my heart to inspire me to write and reminded me of my desire to be a missionary. How can a young girl of 23 adopt 13 girls without fearing about « I’m not going to have enough money » or « No man will accept me » I would have feared that ! What a selflessness. God is marvelous. God can do anything
