RIP Alexis
i remember watching this movie when i was younger. Always tear up when the young man tries to rescue Tralala from the gang rape at the end of the movie. For a movie made in 1989 it was pretty ballsy.
Underrated film.
What the fuck is "underrated" about this film? One of the best films of it's time. I swear to Christ, I'm sick of the word "underrated" so many people use it unnecessarily.
Totally underrated! One of the best films of 89 and a great book by Herbert Selby! Unfortunately it was too much for some people to handle with it's gritty themes, drug use and sexual proclivities.. So many film lovers are unaware of this dark masterpiece, even if they've experienced Selby's 'Requiem for a Dream'.
This is one of my favorite films.
Mine too. Engraved on my soul. So is The nights of Cabiria. Cheers.
Herbert Selby was a twisted genius..
OMG 😱 !!!
I was amazed at Alexis's long body of work. Glad the family chose not to disclose the cause, would've taken away from Alexis's accomplishments. My condolences to the Arquettes. One of the few of Hollywood's royalty and they should be treated as such.....
The family did disclose the cause of death - AIDS with an infection that spread to the liver.
Aids
Great acting
For some reason this film is hard to find on dvd but if you can see it its amazing the acting from an amazing cast is superb, easy a lost classic, the only reason i can see that the fim isn't as known as it is and should be is that it is Dark as hell and deals with very strong subjects.
it was a hard, hitting movie.
go on ebay there's a Korean one but all regions
I read the book not long before it was released as a movie, very dark, harder to read than the film is to watch. I'm sure I've still got the DVD kicking around the house somewhere.
Yes I couldn’t find it anywhere else but a fast speed UA-cam version.
So sad RIP AA x
Amazing film and hard to find. I remember this scene and it was gritty. I always felt bad for this guy and it must have been horrible to live that way then.
Always made me laugh when she said "jesus loves you" lmao. RIP Alexis.
The book is a masterpiece...the film really fell short. Some good performances and great actors but it just didn't translate to the big screen.
I'll take your word for it about the book, and thank you for that info. But this is actually a really CRUEL statement to dismiss this CLASSIC film because it didn't match the book. This is one of the great underrated films that the 1980's produced.
@@A-432-Zone Go easy on the CAPS kiddo.
@@AnthonyMonaghan To the other readers, I do recommend seeing the film adaptation of of book. Highly underrated Classic!
Remember him only as Tony from Sometimes they come back again
where oh where can i find the full movie???????
he played in chucky Tiffany tricked damien play she put those handcuffs on his hands and feet chucky came alive and killed damien
does this character relate to george in the wedding singer?
This is creepy; Almost exactly like how I pictured it in the book
WHERE IS HE?!
Man, I’m not a trans person but the first time I read this segment in the book I felt horrendous
Gay Seinfeld
They tried, god knows, but this was a terrible adaptation of a great book that simply had too much that couldn't be filmed. The director was German and had no feel for the fifties period in America. He sentimentalized shamelessly.
