You read people so well, anxiety can be difficult because the person clams up so you have to read, reassure and constantly re-evaluate to see what they aren't telling you.

I can relate. I deal with medical PTSD along with anxiety and depression as well. Everytime she said she was "fine" red flags went up. I could feel the anxiety coming through the phone. So grateful that the doctor stepped back physically giving her space and acknowledged what was going on then helping her through it. If only half the doctors had that type of awareness.

So I hear you correlate hypermobility with EDS a lot, and I just want to point out that there are other similar connective tissue disorders that can have hypermobility as a symptom such as Marfan Syndrome or Loeys Dietz syndrome. These can also have serious heart problems so if the patient also has signs like flat feet, scoliosis, long and thin bones, stretch marks or a pectus deformity, it could be worth considering Marfan or LDS. And I say this because I have Marfan so I know how important it is to get a correct diagnosis. ☺
