My impression about tier wear is that is almost always the driving style. I have a 2022 model y with 42 000 km, they have great dept. The model y isn't that heavy to be an EV, and not that much more heavy than an equivalent gas SAV. It's when EV driveres punch the throttle all the time, they experience excessive tier wear. It's the torque that ruins the tier.

There is no Mercedez parts in the Tesla model Y. There were a few on the early model S's.

Sorry I need to debunk the myth about sustainability and environmental impact.
Yes an EV has about an 8t extra deficit over an equivalent petrol car of the size of a Teslsa Model 3/Y - this will depend on where the batteries are made. This is because of the energy required to run the dehumidifiers required in the battery factory - needs to be almost zero moisture. Therefore Batteries made in China have a bigger footprint than those made in say Tesla's USA 100% solar run factory.
In the UK the Electricity will only generate 0.1t per 10k miles. A Petrol car on average will generate 4t's per year.
Before people say that's 2 years to offset ... its less than that, as there are no statistics on how much C02 your petrol generates before it's in your tank. Either Oil Pumps (Land) or Diesel Generators (Sea Rigs) to start. Then transported to a refinery (Pipe, so more pumps, or Boats, so more diesel). Then Refined using a hell of a lot of Natural Gas to heat up the oil. Then Transported AGAIN. Then finally pumped into your car. That's a lot of Diesel, Natural Gas, and Electricity to do all that.
That doesn't even cover the environmental impact of oil spills, local pollutions around refineries, sea pollution from all the tankers and oil rigs (they use the dirtiest and cheapest diesel there is as no air regulations at sea).
No amount of lithium mining comes anywhere near the damage to the environment as Oil from start to end.
So think about all the steps to get oil and refined into petrol that are ..... "not on your door step".
Next one is Cobalt - There are two types of batteries LFP which are used in the smaller range cars (Like Tesla Standard Range's) that use zero. But yes it's used in NMC batteries which each year being a smaller amount required.
Cobalt is also used in: Oil Refineries to remove Sulphur in crude oil, catalytic convertors, air bags, Vitamin B tablets, Inks, Paints, Nail Varnish, metal Alloys, and almost every electronic on the planet.
So before posting that Coblat is killing children in mines ... Cobalt is attached to other metals that they are mining anyway AND you've been using unknowingly for 100 years as a species. It's still 100% wrong, but you can't be a hypocrite over it.
Then the batteries will have 2 decades as a car battery, then another 20-30 as energy storage (solar etc..) , before being 99% recycled (it's 96% and projected to be 99% by 2035) - infinitely better than using non-sustainable fuels like Oil
Then finally there is Local pollution - a main cause of Asthma - is zero in a an EV - Anyone that's done a school run in the winter or hot summer, how many cars there running to keep cold/warm?
Over a 200k Life Span an EV will generate around 25T of Total C02. A petrol car 95t.
Now we have to be smart - I'm not suggesting running and instantly trashing a good car for an EV.
Just on your next purchase, either new or second hand, consider and EV. Especially if you can charge at home or work. If you can't then see what the situation is with costs of the public network. It needs it to be down to 40-50p to make any sense, and for there to be chargers where you would go naturally - like local supermarket. So think about all the steps to get oil into petrol that are ..... "not on your door step".

@@warfordcars So I used to be a petrol head. I had pictures of Ferrari and Lamborghini on my wall from the early 80's.
My first car was an Mk3 Escort 1.3L that I removed the badge and stuck an XR3i on it.... Plus a really bad and cheap spoilers 😂
Eventually I got a Renault 1916v Chamde.... Loved it by cost me £1,000's a year to maintain.
Over the years I've own a Mini Copper S, Lexus IS, Jaguar F-Pace Sport, and my favourite car ever.... The Kia Stinger GTs.
In my work I got involved with delivering Net Zero for our company. I did a hell of a lot of research, went to lectures, and watched days of videos on Climate Change.
I then undersood the science, the estimations, and where they come from and why 2050 is the goal.... Even if we should be aiming for 2040.
Scientists all agree it's real but there is an agreement with the majority that we need to act now and the goal is 2050 and +1deg C more...and hope that's enough.
Then I started looking into EV's.... And had to research them a ton too to almost myth bust the issues that were being raised, not only on social media but within my company too.
So I became an expert due to the wave of missinformation and myths on social media.
I'm a realist. I know change isn't going to happen overnight, but we need to get people to understand the situation and facts, before we can guide people into the future.
      That's all I'm trying to do. 😀

EV batteries are 95% recyclable, the grid is powered more and more by renewables, so the whole "EV pollution" thing is nonsense.

Thought this was good until you said ‘I’m not an expert’ and then told us buying a Tesla isn’t having a positive impact on the planet. If you don’t know what you’re talking about then keep opinions to yourself.
What fuel are we running this 20 year old Focus on? How is it getting to the pump, how is it even getting into the country? Who is refining it? Do you really think the only time you see pollution from an ICE is when you’re driving around doing car reviews? If almost by magic the petrol just appears in the petrol station.
No wonder there is so much misinformation about.

It’s funny that even after owning an ev you’re still falling for the most basic anti-ev propaganda. What a shame.
