Great video. I recently picked up a 910H that included an un installed CR-293 so I'm doing research before getting into it. Video is appreciated. - K5PO
I thought about getting a CR-293 for my R8500 receiver but found the stock oscillator performs extremely well on it's own so I didn't bother. Of course, being a receive-only radio, heat is not an issue with the R8500 but it does in fact use the CR-293 option if desired needed. I have been very happy with it and it's stability in stock form. I was looking for video's regarding the CR-293 and you seem to be the only one expressly covering this particular option :)
That was good Adam tnx, I was going to ask can u still buy these CR293's as I dont have one, but u answered that question toward the end of ur vid. It could really help my rig on 2m WSPR. VK2KRR
Hi! Very interesting vedeo. I do not have the CR-293 installed in my 910h yet. I do sometimes notice some frequency offset on 2m about 120 hz on SSB and a bit more on FM. My radio is only 2 years old and bought new. Do you think that if fitted with a well tuned high stability oscillator will solve the issue?
