It's important to remember with #3 that if you lose control of your car in the rain, to keep the accelerator down and wildly steer in all directions - eventually you will find the right setting to gain control again.
Um no don’t do that. Slightly pump your brakes and keep the wheel with direction of your car don’t turn it wildly. You are not touching the ground so turning your wheel does nothing. That’s gonna cause you to flip.

I'm not understanding all of the outrage over the second clip. That's an absolute warrior. Lotto tickets, rolling tobacco and a couple bottles of Zima were required STAT and no mere train was going to stop that utter legend.
I think a lot of people have consideration for the c̶o̶n̶d̶u̶c̶t̶o̶r̶s̶ engineer's of the train who would have to watch another human being be splattered if that "legend" hadn't gotten out of the way fast enough.

true but a bit of a bad design too -- he of course should have seen the TRAIN lol but there are no gates on the sidewalk over there as he was on the left hand side. and he wasnt breaking any laws by having his scooter there. also I honestly am not sure he even saw the train -- the lights should have been obvious and i imagine it was loudly making noise. but if you are disabled (ie mobility scooter) perhaps you dont hear/see so well and no gate over sidewalk there could have been tragic. he seemed genuinely surprised by the train!!

@@stellamariss3335 Nope. you do not hydroplane on damp roadways, only on roadways that have 1/10 inch or more standing water from an active rainstorm. This was a loss of traction, going to fast on damp roads with likely tires that were worn out.
@@BartSparrow123 yes but it also depends on the speed. If you are going too fast even 1/12 will cause you to hydroplane.
And I think he did hydroplane. Having worn tires increases the risk of hydroplaning. So yes if his tires were worn that could’ve made it more likely to happen. But the roads looked wet and it looked like he had bald tires and was going to fast causing him to hydorplane.

@@stellamariss3335 He said it had recently rained, that means the pavement was damp there was NOT standing water on the road and you cannot hydroplane without standing water. Loss of traction from damp surfaces is not hydroplaning. You need to look up what hydroplaning is.
I don't think he hydroplaned, there wasn't enough water. It looked like there was only a little bit of rain. If it just started raining, it's the most slippery time because the oil residue from cars has not been washed off the road yet.

I have a similar story to #2. I was responding to a robbery in progress going 140 mph on a four lane city street. An elderly person on a scooter was crossing the street and not in a crosswalk. I had to slam on my brakes so I wouldn't hit the scooter. With both my emergency lights on and the siren wailing, this elderly person stopped, looked at me, and then continued to cross the street. Unbelievable.

No, being already in the lane gives the cammer the right of way. The driver that is merging needs to find a safe place to merge and get up to the speed of traffic on the highway. There is a wide open place in front of the cammer and probably behind the cammer, too. That was just a terrible merge and the cammer wasn't responsible for any of it.
@@dherzog02 Wrong, the vehicle merging was attempting to get up to speed! Cammer should be the one slowing down as this is a zipper lane merge and there are plenty of time to allow a car to merge onto the highway.

5:18 - Tailgating won't get you into an accident every time, but it will eventually. When someone is tailgating me, I slow down 1 or 2 mph, then 1 or 2 more - gradually, until they pass me. A wreck caused by following too close is so easily avoidable. Just maintain a 2 second following distance or more and keep an eye on the person behind you. If you're being tailgated, you'll need even more space in front of you so that you can get out of the dummy's way.
I don’t think many people grasp just how long a full three seconds actually is on the freeway and people cringe at the thought of leaving a full three car lengths of buffer space. It’s unreal.

1:03 Dang it, I was hoping to see how far a mobility scooter would fly when hit by a train doing a high rate of speed.
Clip 13: doesn't matter that no one was behind you for a mile. You need to drive defensively. Either speed up or slow down, but when you see someone barreling onto the highway on a collision course with you, maintaining your collision course and just laying on the horn is NOT what you should do.
Speed up...exactly what the other car needed to do. Learn how merginig works and cry about the horn some more.

It is amazing how many people make turns and lane changes without bothering to look at their surroundings first. And many of those same people seem totally shocked in disbelief when there end up being consequences to those actions.
seems like literally no one understands that you have to maintain a lane for about 3 blinks before moving over. turning a blinker on as they move over defeats to entire purpose of a blinker.

You don't think people randomly rage on others for no reason? They absolutely do. Not in this case though. I had a guy randomly rage on me in Florida. Absolutely no reason. We don't know who he was. I didn't cut anyone off. Wasn't doing anything but driving 5 over. Dude cuts me off, brake checks. Continues to try and get me to hit him. Little did he know my Rogue could outrun his Escape.
@@ihazdashcam You don't think people randomly rage on others for no reason- I think people that road rage do it for reasons that they perceive were slights against them. You may not think you did something to them but they certainly do.
So while you may see it as "no reason" doesnt mean that it isnt.

It’s literally always an a hole in a truck…especially where I am from. They own the road and speed limits are just suggestions.
