London's theatre district, THE WEST END, is the most famous in the world. CHIPS are NOT French Fries !!!!
I moved to England from the US over a decade ago and I still remember being in awe of London! Having moved around a bit through the country and travelled to Scotland, Wales and Ireland (north and republic) I always find the people amazingly friendly! Such beautiful countryside, cities and people.

Thanks, My Friend. I had 29 years just 2 miles South of Central London and in 1983 moved 11 miles away to the very edge of S E London and Kent and have had 41 more wonderful years here,as well. Easy to return to the heart of London and easy access to THe Countryside and no real incidents in my 41 years here:)

And you can go to Windsor Castle but the best snd much older … Henry VIII’s time … Hampton court .. a boat trip down the Thames … or the tube … or Greenwich … a much shorter boat trip from the London Eye etc … much seen in historical films …
We were in London back in 2018 too and only saw Big Ben under construction, so we have to go back! We had no idea the changing of the guard ceremony was that long!
@@ThePassportCouple , the reason for the railings in front of Buckingham Palace is to protect the guards from the public and of course some were for the bands to play without interference . After cleaning the Elizabeth Tower and repairing it some of the colours were different than many thought , like the bezel that many thought was black turned out to be blue. There are UA-cam videos on how and what was repaired
London has over 200 stage Theatres with regular programmes. It is the largest in the world. And most of it does not consist of populist West End garbage.

Even fairly rural towns have bus stops telling you the arrival time of the next bus. A bus stop near us does, and the buses are only every 30 minutes even at peak times!
Contrary to belief in America, the Brits don’t call French fries chips, they call them French fries. Those are not French fries, they’re chips. French fries are a thinner crisper cut of potatoes. Chips are thicker and fleshier cut.

If in London again, try the Emirates Airline cable car across the Thames. Much cheaper than the London Eye and if you time it right you can give a great view down the river at sunset.

There was a pub in London that back to 987AD it shut during Covid .Think its being restored at the Moment ( cant remember its name ) obviously English wouldn't have been spoken, you would have to Order in Anglo-Saxon.

As with so many YT creaters visiting London - you never say when you were here. It matters. The weather, the sunlight, when it gets light and dark - varies massively: in midsummer it gets light at 4am and dark at 11pm and in mid winter it might not get light until 9 am then dark all day then sunset at 3.30pm- also activities and events are all time of year dependent.

Buckingham Palace has 775 rooms so don't think it's as small as you might think and around 39 acres of gardens, it's taken just over five years just to rewire the palace

"technically" no factually Big Ben is the bell. Also the whole of the palace of Westminster burned down and the building that stands there now is called The new palace at Westminster and it's only around 180 years old.
The cast from Back to the Future said the show on Broadway was rubbish. They said The best Actor in that show was the car. The west End show was Amazing according to them...
London is by far the greatest city in Europe to visit as a tourist. There's history on literally every corner and you could visit twenty times and still find new things to do and see. The weather in London is [usually] surprisingly better than most people expect. It's often warm and sunny there in summer. Now,. that said, the UK is currently experiencing it's absolute worst summer on record in 2024.
It is a great city to visit and one we will certainly return to. It feels like traveling through time when you think of all the history there. We really enjoyed it all 🇬🇧
At least you went to a decent pub. I hope you saw their cat and their ghost. There’s a lot more to see and experience outside of the tourist centre of London though.
We loved the pub and the cat was awesome, though we did not have an encounter with the ghost (didn't know it was a thing there). We will be back and looking forward to exploring even more ✈️🇬🇧

I love Gordon's Wine Bar. In winter you can take shelter inside the vaults & in the summer you can sit out in the alley way & drink in the sun👍

You can get cheap theatre tickets from a booth in Leicester square. Just like airlines they discount seats to try and fill them last minute.

"technically" no factually Big Ben is the bell. Also the whole of the palace of Westminster burned down and the building that stands there now is called The new palace at Westminster and it's only around 180 years old.

London is by far the greatest city in Europe to visit as a tourist. There's history on literally every corner and you could visit twenty times and still find new things to do and see. The weather in London is [usually] surprisingly better than most people expect. It's often warm and sunny there in summer. Now,. that said, the UK is currently experiencing it's absolute worst summer on record in 2024.
It is a great city to visit and one we will certainly return to. It feels like traveling through time when you think of all the history there. We really enjoyed it all 🇬🇧

We loved the pub and the cat was awesome, though we did not have an encounter with the ghost (didn't know it was a thing there). We will be back and looking forward to exploring even more ✈️🇬🇧

London isn't the be all and end all of UK, leave London and explore, hire a car and just drive, there's little villages, thousands of years old, hundreds of cultures, foods from specific places areas of outstanding natural beauty and heritage centres to explore
