Some beautiful faces like Rani (Sahiba) in the films have been known by their tremendous performances rather than by their names while her dance in handsome and tall Joy Mukerji-beautiful Asha Parekh starrer musical supehit, Nasir Husain Sahib's 'Phir Wohi Dil Laya Hoon' still lingers on my mind when she competes with Asha Parekhji in a dance competition on stage where Tabassum Sahiba herself was present. Obviously, she had to concede defeat in front of heroine Ashaji but her dance was really superb in the song in legendary Asha Bhosleji's tinkling voice and O.P Nayyarji's mesmerizing music 'Dekho bijli doley bin badal ke'. Thereafter, she worked with living legendary nonagenarian thespian Dilip Kumar Sahib, Pran Sahib, Waheeda Rehman Sahiba, Shyamaji and Rehman Sahib with two dance-songs 'Haye ratiya tun bada bedardi' and 'Dil haarne wale aur bhi hain.
Hats off to legendary Gopi Krishanaji who helped her in need like a good friend and Tahira Syed Sahiba for running the Old age Home for the humanitarian deed! Heartfelt prayers for Raniji.
Thanks for sharing these details. Hindi cinema has been enriched by such wonderful artistes. It is sad to know about her injury but one hopes she has recovered and her current days are less painful.

I was so impressed about her beauty, looks and dances, always wondered why she's not lead role actress. Now I found out from you. To me she's still beautiful lady! Tabassumjee it’s wonderful to see u after a long gap. First I like to compliment on ur sense of grooming. It look marvelous in ur choice of dressing God bless u and keep u healthy. It was very sad to hear the tragedy of movie actors. In Pakistan an actor called Ali ijaz did everything for the family but in his old age his wife of 40 yrs and two grown sons turn their back on him. They placed him in servant quarter in his on house and take public transportation when he owned a fleet of car. Look it up. He died in dec 2018. His drama called ghumshuda and also khwaja and son will bring tears to ur eyes. First one is a replica of his personal life. Watch on utube

Tabassum auntie, thank you for another wonderful video, and a longer one this time, though we would like it to be still longer. It was strange that the dancer actress wanted to study but her father wanted her to work in films. Normally the opposite happened in olden days. Please take care in these tough times, and whenever you can, make a video on Sundeep, who played child roles in Hariyali aur Rasta and Waqt in 1960s. God bless. The loneliness and bad days, so many film artists, who once lived with so much glamour, have to bear in their old age, really makes us sad.

Thank you so much Tabassum ji for this very interesting video on the talented dancer Rani ji. All these while I was under the impression that she was from South and a non-Muslim. Most of the time I have seen her dancing in pair rather than solo. If I remember well, she had performed in "Mere Mehboob" too, that is, in the dance song "allah bacha-ey naujawano sey..." with nimmi in the lead.
