Yes!! Great interview. Very lucky to see Rage this past summer on their amazing tour. 5 sold out shows at the Garden. So fn good! Mr. Morello has always been a fave.
Twas an awesome tour fr...Though I was disappointed that the rest of Buffalo was not very familiar with RTJ. But i hollered as loud as I could for them.
Stop being a clown. Other people buying his music doesn't make him not anti-establishment. Especially when most of it is Rage money. You're probably one of the fake ass fans who jammed to the riffs and turned your ears off for the lyrics. Artists deserve to get paid for their art. Comment again when you're considered probably the greatest living guitar player in current history
Shock value does not promote change. I'm not one to promote censorship, but bragging about using your freedom of expression to make people who paid for a concert see your naked body instead is just stupid. Making your opponents mad just for the sake of it does not make your position look attractive. Even most people today are fine with protests, but they draw the line at protestors making fools out of themselves.
While shock value may not always be the most effective means of promoting change, it can be a powerful tool to grab people's attention and raise awareness about important issues that may otherwise be ignored or overlooked. Moreover, art is not always intended to be entertaining, and the use of nudity or other provocative imagery can serve as a means of subverting societal norms and challenging oppressive structures. Just because some artists entertain doesn't make them entertainers.
They should have interviewed Jmaes Hetfield instead: Independence limited Freedom of choice Choice is made for you, my friend Freedom of speech Speech is words that they will bend Freedom with their exception
what tf am i missing?? Spin sponsored along with FIRE AND Tom Morello?? HUHHHHH???? oh i gotta hear this out. cuz 5 minutes ago i NEVER woulda seen this happening.
you should hope people only remember you as the guy who got in the all-time A leaguer, Randy Rhoads, into the RNRHOF or the guitarist in that band with Chris Cornell.... RATM are B leaguers
ahhhhh.... ok so this was more a 'hey Tom tell us about some instances of censorship in ur bands past' versus a 'Tom Morello is scared about the direction in modern day censorship' cuz i dont think he is. especially with the 'whenever someone is protecting the kids, behind it is an authoritarian jackass'. not always bro. maybe most the times, but not always.

No evidence here that he supports the free speech of those he disagrees with.

This is just the first episode and Metallica is my favorite band of all time.
Too bad they left their values and virtue back in the 90s.
