Without a doubt Taraji and Terrence have great chemistry. It's the same as Angela Bassett and Laurence Fishburne, except Taraji and Terrence show us how two people can still have love for each other even when the relationship is over. While Angela and Laurence demonstrate the same powerful chemistry in showing us what happens when a couple stay together and force feed a toxic relationship. I'm glad that Empire got it right!
You do realize that 'What's Love Got To Do With It' was based on a true story, right???? And you do know that Empire is 10,000% scripted, from start to finish. So comparing the two is just plain foolishness at its best.

I was comparing the chemistry between the actors Angela Bassett and Laurence Fishburne and how well they portrayed the violent relationship between the real Ike and Tina Turner. Without the chemistry between the two actors along with some powerful acting, we would not have believed their portrayal of the real Ike and Tina. Just like Angela and Fishburne, the actors Taraji and Terrence Howard combine the same chemistry and powerful acting. They make us believe that they are exes still in a hate-love relationship and we get to watch their lives unfold every week. You see, I am comparing the ACTING not the fact that one set of actors were portraying a real-life couple, and the other set of actors are portraying fictitious characters. I thought that was pretty clear from the start, but obviously not...

I don't even know if it is his opinion or a poor choice of words; but the points he brings up are so important I wouldn't ignore them over it. The show he is in, Empire, has the best gay storyline on TV and the creator is gay and I am sure he knows it, so keep that in mind. He is no bigot.

Yes, I said homophobic because anyone who says being gay is a "choice" is just afraid of the gay that lives inside of them. Sounds like the creator is leaving Lucious Lyon alive and well! You might want to listen to the video again without your own personal prejudices. I know nothing about Terrence Howard except his body of work. Not his personal life. So to call him abusive and sad I can't join in that. All I can say is he was discussing his character and not his personal beliefs. He certainly didn't make it up that the black community has had an issue with black men and homosexuality. LaShuna Hughes Yeah, I learned about Terrence Howard's history of domestic abuse when he said some supportive BS about Chris Brown ... It pretty much made me not want to watch this show, as it disgusts me to watch people like him and Charlie Sheen and others who beat women without regret or growth... but too many friends wanted to discuss the show, so I am here, loving the show but hating him and of course, who wouldn't hate his character. Albeit some people's forgiveness capacity is far greater than mine. Yours may be. Yes, you are right about me taking my personal beliefs into this comment section... Or you probably have a healthy thick line between who he is and his character. I'd be fine for them to kill off his character so I, and the rest of the show-watching public, wouldn't have to look at his woman-beating face anymore. Make Cookie the richest and most powerful person on the show, and leave Lucious to wither. That being said, I think i get it enough to understand some people believe in repentance, some people want to see the growth of his character so badly, just as badly as they want to see the growth of the community, and of men like this in general. Good stuff.

Mr. Howard was still in character in this interview, I felt like they were interviewing luscious Lyon and not Terrance Howard. That's what method acting does to folks, they live the character so much that they become it in real life. Crazyyyyy

You and people who work behind the scenes probably have to deal with little annoying things like this all of the time in order to make an interview or whatever come together so that by the time the audience sees it all of the junk is gone. It was great to see a celebrity cut lose and say how he felt because the heels were annoying the hell out of everybody watching the video! Too funny!

The heels WERE very distracting! Terrence Howard only said what everyone else was thinking, although his delivery was a bit direct and he could've said "please" I suppose, when you're right in the middle of an interview with echos, etc., sometimes we dont't have time for pleasantries... Great interview overall, Terrence and Taraji are terrific together, I love Empire! Fox would be crazy not to continue this show. Empire makes TV exciting and worth watching again.

they could have done a better job interviewing him in a better place, even outside or in his trailer. he was tryin to give them an answer without feelin drowned out by background noise. lol they could have even edited the sound better or cut that out but lesson learned,hope u grow from those mistakes.
I totally don't blame Terrance Howard for being annoyed with the background noise. In addition, the audio was horrible. Why in the hell was the interview not set-up better? That was so disrespectful to Mr. Howard. The fact that the person conducting the interview did not say address it immediately was extremely unprofessional. I also had the impression that the person conducting the interview was not prepared at all-his questions were not provocative, his overall demeanor lacked enthusiasm and sincerity. Terrance Howard clearly had to make up for all the deficiencies that were evident in this interview. What a shame.
I am glad they have a harmonious set behind the scenes. He is blessed to have Taraji for a friend because she would only play Cookie if they hired him. I thought he was blackballed after Iron man? But anyway, glad they didn't go with Wesley Snipes.

I find it funny that whenever we're "uncomfortable" we blame the things that make us feel that way instead of looking inside for why it bothers us.
You are of course entitled to your beliefs and opinions but those beliefs and opinions are have lead to the highest rates of HIV infection among black women aged 20-30 outside of the continent of Africa.
The black community can hold on to a religious prejudice against gay people but it doesn't change that fact that gay people are a part of this society, have made important contributions to everything from the struggle for civil rights to fixin that hot mess of a hairstyle so can leave your house.
Just like black and brown folks, we have been killed, discriminated against and we and the people who believe in full equality are not going to put up with being second class citizens anymore.

This sound sucks. But the interview is great. But Terrance is misinformed. The Bernie Mac Show, In Living Color, Cedric The Entertainer Presents, The Wanda Sykes Show and Method and Red were all black show (predominately black casts) on FOX.

I don't think there is nothing wrong with the comment he is making. He's simply saying as a black gay man in the retrospect of his son in Empire it's hard to be black, a male and gay.
