I love the way you did the back, can you please show us the front too.🙋🏻♀️
I love it. I was able to cut my own hair thanks to this video. I always wanted this kind of haircut but my last hairdresser wasn't able to cut it like that.
I thought you did a great job explaining what you were doing 👍 very insightful 👏
You literally just saved the mess I had on the back of my head. I did this and it looks great! THANK YOU SO MUCH
William! I am obsessed with this video! Not only was it amazing and extremely well done, but you as the video host is the best. You are everything I have been searching for in a hair dresser and teacher. I absolutely love it!!!
I would like to see the rest of the haircut!!
WOW! I paid $500 @ Aveda advanced training in Minneapolis in the 90's to work on the drag & shag technique for 2 days non stop.. Very insightful!!
I always cut my hair at home because I like unique haircuts and hairdressers always assume you want something basic.
I aimed for this kind of look but did not follow correct instructions, but this is exactly what I wanted. But my hair will grow out and I will attempt to do it right the next time.
What about the front?
He takes the front also.in one cut. Up horizontale above ears..cut...or to the front nose/Lips. Were you cut is the shortest part.
@@beateb2306 same in the hand or a clip and cut. Not to short in the beginning. From above the ears to the ceiling of to the front/nose.
And onley If you want layers on top or in the face.
Brad Mundo on UA-cam.
couldn't see or hear very well but it was simple and fast and a shag!
No fear .. pull out that razor.. have fun!!!!!! I loved working with open minded clients
I'm retired now and miss the fun!!!!
I can't unsee this being Happy from Spiderman living his best post-trauma life
I was going to do this at home
But damn it's so hard.
Great video btw
Is there part 2 for the front & sides?
As a hairdresser, I’m assuming he uses the same layering technique on the sides using the shortest layer of the back section as a guide. Then he probably does a layered curtain bang in the front to add that shag spunk
Would it be rude to show this video to a hairdresser. I have been to 4 different hair dressers who cannot cut my hair into a short shag properly. Last time i ended up cutting some of my own hair after being at the hairdressers. My hair is very thick and wavy, not easy i guess. Always needs lots of thinning out.
I'm a hairdresser! I can't speak for all of us, but I would love if someone showed me video like this! Its a pretty short and to the point video and will give them the best idea of what you're looking for. My only suggestion is to make sure you have an appointment so they have the time to watch it. Its a quick video but if they're doing walk-ins, they may be in a rush and not have the time. Best of luck!
@Violetta i do this on my hair. Whit a long clip. You can do it whit 3 rubberbands. The Line is almost horizontal. But bring each section to the middle at the back. Its the control point.
Short or long i cut myself.
I’m a hairdresser, if they are offended go somewhere else! I love clients that bring me pics/videos so I understand what they are wanting.😁
How old are the hairdressers that you are trying? I am just thinking maybe try one that is probably in the 45-70 age range. I am just saying that because most of the best shag cuts were from the 1970’s/1980’s and maybe very early 1990’s
@@tlfield3648 Truth! I just asked the thirtysomething manager of a chain salon about cuts like this, and she had no clue what I meant. Bonus: her salon removed all of their style books (facepalm).
So, what do you do with the other two sections?
This is an add for the particular brand scissors. Any thinning shears as long as they are sharp will work. The guy probably has a deal wit h the company.
I have extremely thin, fine hair. I wonder if this would "fluff" it up to look like more...or thin it out more.
Yeaaaaa it worked and is nice and even!!! Thank you ❤
I literally have been to the salon for 4 hours and twenty-four hour period because my hair stylist could not get it right the first time so I went back she spent two more hours and still did not get the layers correct she said that if I cut them too short they would look funny on my head she didn't know anything about this bone method, I think she was too scared and didn't know how to do this. So off to my own demise I shall be to fix this 😂
Can You please put a link to the cutting shears you used?
How about using a blonde wig if you are going to dress in black and pieces of the background are black while using a black wig?
So how do you do the other 20%? How do you do the sides?
Well I have to know too because I already did the back and I can't walk around with my front in a ponytail lol
from what I have seen from youtube videos, there are a few techniques to do the front half or "framing" pieces. You can either bring it all forward and cut it the length of the fringe (so it blends), or you can take shears or a razor and glide it down to frame the face. I definitely suggest watching a few videos to get the idea though!
So how is front cut to finish the shattered shag?
Thank You! Great!
i really think ALL hairdresser should be forbidden to own scissors
I feel like that was parallel to the opsipital bone. Not two inches under.
Very good indeed.!
Do you take clients there? I have been wanting a shattered bob , i haven't found anyone to do ithe way I like Super textured
What about the rest of the hair!?!?!
He’s really pushing those thinning shears 😂
Go to salon for this, never get it, trying at home, ordered my scissors but I guess I need the razor tek shears or whatever lol good luck to me.
20%/80%? That was almost 50/50
I think he means 20% because the front "half" of the head has less hair than the back, because the hair stops at the hairline. But in the back it goes down to the nape of the neck, so there is technically more hair? I'm just throwing out a guess haha
You are very good. I wish you could cut my hair. 😊
Does this work well for curly hair?
Yep, what about the rest?
Then how do you cut the sides?????
Can you use texture sheers?
Where can the Razor-Tech shears be purchased?
That's 50/50
cool shears!
The shears he is describing are chunkers.
Can't hear this. Can't see the hair, as it's dark and so is the stylist's shirt.
What is the shear brand? The transcript says Cycacia , but I can not find it.
What about the front 20%
Bad idea to have black clothing and dark haired model. Does not work on video.
Great tip, Idig it.
Instructions on the front and side please
💖💖💖💖💖💖💖😱😱😱😱😱😱thank many😍😍😍😍😍
why was this filmed on a potato?
Where can I find the scissors he used?
You can get some cheaper shears at Sally's and on amazon :) I'm about to buy a pair myself
He said not to use thinning shears so what exactly did he say that should be used? It sounded like razor text to me I couldn't understand him
I think this is the scissors he was talking about www.precisionshears.com/Yuroshi-CT22-Hair-Thinning-Scissor-22-Tooth.html. Way too expensive for home use. Please post if you find an affordable substitute!
I have been to a lot of salons - some cheap, some expensive - and NO ONE knows how to layer! I get short in front and long in back, but not layered all over.
Me too...I have thick wavy hair and I stopped asking for layers because I got tired of looking like a 🌲 Now I cut it myself because I just don't have luck finding good stylists. But I'd never do a shag. I'd still look like a 🌲.
I'm a wavy girl.. Have been cutting my own hair, too. But, have you heard of the book, 'curly girl' by Lorraine Massey and..her co-author? She wrote that and a couple others and started Devacurl method salons..she sold the business and started something else now, apparently. Her book is awesome..rates types of curls and how to care for them, cut them.. Hint: don't use shampoo. Get a botanical conditioner minus dyes, silicones, parabens and wash with that..
I'd like to take him seriously, but it's the OCCIPITAL bone, not OPCITIBLE bone....ugh.
real person would be better
What do we do with the front 20%.. someone help. 🙁 *internal panicking*
Did I miss something? He only cut one section.
That's the most confusing way I have ever heard anybody explain anything. Reminds me of a film flam man making a bad pitch.Seriosly this was a simple 3 step one paragraph process which took about 12 sideways turns, and 4 unrelated explanations. Geez!
Oh great blk background
You shouldn't even bother filming if it has to be from that distance.
I don't trust this guy because he is hiding his hair. 😆
I don’t trust him because he calls occipital bone the opcipital bone.
Welcome to the "603!"
You said just 1 cut..
I saw what you were doing but the volume was very poor
Hard to tell for sure when your cutting against your dark jacket!
Blurry???
Occipital bone
I cant hear it.
And the rest?
Plz turn up your Volumne!!
Cant hear it
Why wouldn't the stylist wear a light color shirt/jacket or use a blonde mannequin? js
Tiny video...fuzzy. hard to see
If you talk, you have to use microphone closer to you, or just don't talk
Está muy retirada la cámara.
No se puede apreciar el corte!
No se vio nada!
you don’t need all the big words
Perhaps you cut the hair on the sides? The exact same way you do to the back..common sense..its how I'd do it..lol
He lost me at some bone
He’s talking about the occipital bone, this is the big, rounded part at the back of the head. You want the hair to fall two inches below that, or as he says, you won’t have a shag, you’ll have a mess. I hope this helps.
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occipital_bun
Occipital bone? Huh? 🤷🏼♀️
He’s teaching his class. This video is probably for students who were absent fo this cut. The occipital bone is the bone in the back part of your head.that sticks out a little. .... so two inches below that bone.
Too far away!
Why they wearing black clothes, can’t see anything
Video starts at 2:17
Crap camera work
Too blurry
This is a monstrosity 😂
👎✌
Horrible. I think I just threw up a little...
I think you have a lot to offer, but please consider a different color hair to contrast against your clothing. It’s tough to see. Also, tell your cameraman that portrait view is a cardinal sin!! Thank you for sharing.
❤️ and this is how the 70’s is done.
So reminiscent of good ole days. ✂️✂️✂️
