Megadeth fan here to reply on 8 year old comment, look up dethbangers in Denver 1986 on youtube. (particularly the video with a family sitting around a TV.) that recording has some of the best performances of the first album I’ve ever heard
I love Rust in Peace with Marty Friedman and all but something about this lineup, this era, the way Dave plays leads...you can not ever recreate this sound

He probably was because they were about to play the heaviest thrash metal song ever. I wouldn't claim to be a huge fan of Megadeth overall, but I knew it was Chris Poland for sure. I am a diehard fan of the early songs that were of this caliber and intensity.
He was obviously strung out, as they all were most of the time. 1:10 Notice his blank stare and how he plays that fucking tough riff like it was nothing...badass.
