In this lens review video Auto Rikenon 55mmF/1.4 lens mounted in Canon6d and in Sony a7ii. Photos taken with canon60D, Canon6d and in Sony a7ii.
This Vintage lens has an excellent image quality, it's sharp wide open, no distortion, no visible chromatic aberrations, and this lens has a unique lens flare which I like personally.
I have tried to cover all the points that I know. Hope you find it useful.

Thank you for an excellent review. I love the manual focus fast fifties and have mainly concentrated on the lenses from Takumar, Carl Zeiss Jena and Helios. I've been considering this lens and your review has convinced me to go ahead and buy one.

Thank you. I appreciate it. If you get a good copy, grab it. I personally like Rikenon lenses, 70-210 is one of the finest as well. I have a review video on this channel. I mostly use vintage lenses for my work. Love Helios lenses, 44 is one of my favorites, IQ is excellent. Zeiss and Takumar lenses are on my list, have not used any of these yet, may be someday.

One arrived today. With the adapter previously purchased. The Sears version. I had to buy it on ebay with a Ricoh body to get it, but I still paid only 50 dollars. No helicord adapter, jus straight. But I know I'm getting more closeup having the extension the adapter brings. I'm shooting more moody darker shots wide open,,this first day, and the lens gives and gives. Too bad I'm stuck home with Covid...this winter light is inviting me out there!

Good vid.. How did you get such a smooth pan between 9'57" and 10'11" ? You will also like Chinon 55mm 1.4 or 1.7 both Tomioka : )

Thank you. Much appreciated. I think, steady hand movement, in body camera stabilization, and post processing did the work. And you are right, I was after both the lenses (Chinon and Tomioka) for a long period of time. Sadly, I lost the bid at very last moment on Chinon.

I'm pretty sure that this lens was indeed made by Tomioka.
The price you paid for it wasn't too bad either.
