Yes! There’s definitely a fine line between self care being about making yourself feel good and taking care of your needs, or celebrating yourself, and feeling pressured or compelled to do things/buy things. Especially in a wellness obsessed influencer era. There’s one influencer that lives near me who has completely lost herself in it. She is looking sicker than ever but touting this wellness, HoLliStiC lifestyle. She lives off of sponsored powders, and over exercises to the extreme, then falls off the wagon and binges, then has to do a ‘reset’ or ‘project comeback’ constantly. She’s been caught out in many lies about what she does vs what she says she’s doing, but because she’s so deep in it, and it’s her livelihood, she won’t change. It’s sad for her, but sadder to the people she’s influencing.
Thanks for sharing ❤ Anything that is extreme is bound to make u fall off the wagon cos there is no balance in the body. We need to listen to our body and be in balance with how we do things rather than going the extreme ways ❤❤
Was having a "down on myself" day today after seeing unflattering pictures of myself. It's like you think you have matured past the shallow stuff, but every now and then, it gets you. Your podcast got me out of my head. Thank you for being incredibly informative and human! Had to subscribe. 😊
You guys are the only people I can actually sit down and listen to y’all talk for hours. I love the conversations you guys have like it really be having me thinking lol
I really love how both of you are so vulnerable and transparent as you share very personal things about yourselves, I've been following this channel for years now and you guys have been a big part of my growth in all matters of life. Really grateful for this kind of content that you're producing, God bless and more power 💐💗💖☁️.
Love these podcast, we really do forget about self care, your stories are so relatable, alot of food for thought and change in perspective, you are very inspirational, thanks Fel and Ro👏👏❤️
haha, im also painting my nails at the same time watching this video at the background. This is my thing too, been doing for years. It's so relaxing but at the same time really productive.
My skin self care went from trying to treat bad cystic acne and has now turned into OCD with a large helping of perfectionism. Doing my skin care routine used to be fun. I am happy that my cystic acne is gone and my skin is great but the process of maintaining the results has become an annoyance. At night I'm constantly dreading the thought of double cleansing and/or showering.
Oh my goodness! So I was listening and everything Fel was saying was speaking to me about my self image as a kid, painting my nails as self care. Then she said Aquarius and I was like 🫢 makes sense lol. Love the podcast and both of you 🥰
It's easy to take things to the extreme. I grew up in the size zero era of thigh gaps, Kate Moss and Nicole Richie thinness, I used to exercise tons and diet a lot to lose weight rather than fitness, and suffered with anorexia for years as a result. Looking back, there was nothing wrong with my weight before the ED, but when I had it I looked far too underweight and was totally disillussioned at the time
We grew up in an era of zero curves, and it was hard! I'm so glad that more curves are celebrated these days. We also had mainstream media, and while we did have the internet, we didn't have social media so mainstream was our media source. I remember Anna Nicole Smith being the only curvy gal.
@@EMILY4DAYS yeah I remember that too, things are so different now. I remember when I was 12, it was completely normal to walk into the convenience store to find anorexic look celebs all over the magazines
Everyone wants and deserves to be beautiful. Healthcare and insurance should help people more especially with cometic procedures that affect people well being and mental health and keep them shunned from society.
thanks for sharing, both sides were very relatable. side note to fel´s love for grapefruits, pls be aware that grapefruit is a disruptor for whole bunch of medication e.g. contraceptiva !
feeling ugly, big and heavy, and unworthy all in all. been going through a lot and trying to take care of myself this time and feeling too overwhelmed by trying to learn self care.
Do you want advice? If yes, then quit social media. I’m going through my watch later playlist which few now and I won’t be opening this app or any others else for something nessecary for long period. Don’t focus on anyone especially celebrities or influncers. Focus on yourself! Your health, mental being… That’s I think most important step in my opinion. Which you the best luck!
Has Felicia ever tried Accutane or Vilantae B5 vitamins for her Acne/ oily skin? Those supposedly work to dry it up from the inside out! Washing with cleansers probably won't stop it entirely.
I'm enjoying your podcast so much! ❤️ I just love how open and vulnerable you are talking about yourselves. P.S.: Happy holiday season to everyone! ✨❤️

I love that this combines philosophy with a dash of skin care in the terms of habits and self-care. This content is fantastic!!

Incredibly sophisticated and nuanced; akin to a book that was sophisticated and nuanced in its approach. "Your Body Your Temple" by Sophia Wintergreen
