Drift fishing can still be extremely effective! Most people just bobber dog during the high water now

I was the guy that rolled up towards you in that first stretch. Wanted to come say hi but also wanted to fish and the wind was awful up there and didn’t want to push into where you were fishing. I found one down river that day!

Sometimes the fish are there but they just don't want the lure. I found one in a shallow run the other day and was sending different jigs within a foot of it's head. 20 casts and 4 different baits with no luck.

This is pretty typical day steelhead fishing. It can be a grind, but do it because you love it, then you are always having fun. Like you said, you don't have to catch a fish. It's good just to be out in Mother Nature and if you don't hook a steelie then just call it bird watching.

I’ve always said “you have to really love to fish to be a salmon/steelhead fisherman” because so many days are just like this one.

As someone that lives on that river….i can honestly say that river sucks 😂 some of the holes looking amazing but the river just seems void of any signs of life most trips
Definitely not what it use to be. All the fish we get in there now are tiny little hatchery brats maybe 5 lbs at most
100% man. I’ve had some banner days in there but if you don’t hit the right day your screwed anymore . Not enough fish to have fish in all these areas
That river does suck now. More people than fish anymore. Wdfw cut the hatchery plant by 75% and changed the type of fish so they come in more spread out but only about 300 a year make it back now compared to 1800 5 years ago

I really enjoy watching but make sure you keep some fishing days for you. Just get out fish and don’t bring a camera.
Be nice not to have to film yourself putting on wader boots too.
Last year i fished a handful of days without the camera. i did enjoy it quite a bit. financially its not smart however i feel more rested. anyways if yall enjoy a good video and content then i dont mind doing it!
