Yeah, i feel the belts ( especially the red belt) has declined for me it's also in ring match wise. I remember a couple of years ago when Utami had it then Syuri . Man Syuri would defend it month after month in good matches. Also, i remember when Saya Kamitani had the White Belt she had multiple good matches 4 star (+) . And the title reigns were longer, now reigns don't necessarily have to be long but need some high quality matches them.
Honestly, I'd rather see new champions over someone holding the belt(s) for years and years. But also, don't forget that the ladies and fans said that last year was kind of a letdown, so enjoy all the changes that are happening this year. But I do understand and see what you're saying as far as belts changing hands more often. Usually there's a transitional champ who is meant to lose to get the title onto a specific person, so maybe we are just taking the scenic route. I will say that I've been happy with Stardom, but the 5SGP has had way too many Broadway Matches.
@johnnygrind77 I like your assertion that the "scenic route" is possibly being taken here, good thinking! If you're willing to expand on the "Broadway" matches in this tournament, I'd be curious to hear more! Thank you
@@String6Splash "Broadway Matches" are matches that go the full alotted time and it ends on a draw. I know ties can and will make a difference with tournaments, but they don't need 1 or 2 every date.
Shorter reigns don’t diminish belts much for me as long as there’s not more than a year of short reigns. I hope Natsupoi holds on to Wonder for a year then drops to Hazuki for a long reign. I’d like to see things build towards AZM for a long World reign after first passing it to Tam then Saya and I’d like to see SLK build towards taking IWGP from Mayu. High speed should have short reigns imo but would like to see the Goddess settle down a bit for sure. Maybe get them back on FDC and give H.A.T.E. Artist.
There are plenty of reasons for the decline. Then new IWGP ans STRONG titles made the traditional belts kind of second class archievements. Taking the red belt off of Giulia and let her have a glorious run with the STRONG title also amplified that feeling. Then there was bad luck with Tam's injury but the main reason for the decline is most of the time bad booking. Natsuko for instance totally deserves the red belt reign, her Dump Matsunoto personification is excellent, unfortunately Stardom didn't gave her the proper booking (Goldberg-like streak), so after month of losing countless fights and not even winning Godess with Momo, everybody Is asking why is she holding the red belt?
I'm not one to get into analysis of all the factors of wrestling outside the actual wrestling itself so I pretty much ignore them but I must say I did notice how short some of the belt reigns have been. That creates a feeling of "so what" when I see a belt change hands and drastically reduces the level of excitement I feel. Bummer.
I feel like current booking of stardom is based on as much of shock factor as possible. Kamitani's betrayal of Maika. We still don't know why. JUST BECAUSE. Otherwise Natsuko would have never been a red belt champion. Tam lost 5 star, but Tora nominated her to be a number one contender anyway. Does she want a cheap victory over injured Tam, OR we will have Tam vs evil Kamitani for the belt? In both cases if story has a end goal i can tolerate some inconsistencies, for the greater good. Tag belts are in mess, but if we get a final confrontation between Syuri and Konami out of it, i'm fine, but key word is IF. White belt mess started when Rossy was fighting with bushiroad about Mirai and Mina and that was a compromise that didn't make anybody happy. Trust me i'm a huge Mina fan. I understand Mika and Saori angle it is a consequence of Okada politics "We will work with everybody". Ladies managed to went personal. It was cool and we have Saori vs Dash Chisako and Manami in 5 star out of it. End goal was Anou vs POI. I feel SLK will get a belt of POI, and it will be fantastic.
Good points! The Rossy/Bushiroad component definitely affected what happened before and during Mirai's reign. I'm glad you brought up the "we will work with everybody" mentality too. SLK and the White Belt seems like just a matter of time at this stage. Thanks!

So they became like the WWE ones, mere macguffins, Sith Wayfinders from the new Starwars triology?!

This is good food for thought! You're right that Natsuko could have been built as a force to be reckoned with. Glad you brought these things up!

It is clear that she cannot bear the responsibility of leadership and the burden of searching for others to join her. (google traduction)
