God, I miss the 2-strokes. MotoGP is great and all but it can’t compete with awesome power of riding a chainsaw.
If they don't use 2 strokes there's a reason.

Takes me back to the 70's when real bikes rode men!. Castrol R30. Who remembers that oil?, and Belray MC1. Man I miss those days.
Still remember the smell and ear piercing sound.
So do I, we used to put a tablespoon of castor oil in our motocross bikes so it smelt like Av gas!. Did it when I got my S2 and H2 Kawasakis also.

Not many machines are capable of that. A whole different ballgame to put that power effectively onto the road though.

TBH I'm kinda a treehugger, I can still appreciate a good sound and a powerful 2-stroke. Doesn't mean I'd buy one tho ahah. Also motorcycles make sense from an ecological sense to commute on anyway (at least in Europe where we can filter through traffic)

Amsoil / 104 Octane fuel (from johnstown pa. airport) gas we ran for our dirt drag/hillclimb bikes and trikes ....bean juice...i can still smell it lol . thanks for the memory :)

I have a bike with the same HP but is 100lbs more. Couldn’t imagine shaving 100lbs off the bike. I did weight 100 lbs when I was 20. Now 205... I guess I could start there 😂😂

2 strokes fire at every revolution.. no tappet valves no lifter no camshaft, lobes, camchains and all those heavy clockwork in a 2 stroke

I take it you don't understand 2 strokes. Only 200hp from a modern technology race 500cc means it's detuned for rideability.

How does it compare to the Honda NSR500?
That's the million dollar question. Seriously tho, it's a bit lighter, the displacement is a bit bigger (for extra torque) and of course it lacks circa 25hp compared to a 1999 gp bike. It would be interesting to have a fast and knowledgeable rider test both and then report extensively. Surely tho the Suter has more electronics so it's safer and quite a bit tamer

I always remember the RG500 riding past and the front wheel lifting when he was in a new gear.
Yeah, had a 1989 RG500 Schwantz replica, Pepsi Cola colours. It went like a rubber band popping. Begged to be ridden like it was stolen. I miss the old MotoGP 2 stroke battles of the 80's, invariably Rainey Schwantz & Doohan. Knocking fairings for the racing line at 160mph+

Two stroke motorcycles are absolutely incredible I do ride 4 stroke occasionally but they can't compete with a two stroke well on a 4 ill admit you don't have to pull into every garage you pass for petrol

Even it’s a stock bike, she gave me some thrills & happines! Now, I have one 2015’s BMW F800R. Good for riding but its throttle response is more predictable! 😀😉🇧🇷
A friend of mine took a 500cc 2 stroke for a ride here in NZ back in the 80's... Took it back to his friend at the bike shop and asked he NEVER let him ride one again...
Top gear on a back road in Masterton (used historically for NZ speed records)... opened the throttle a little more at what he thought was top speed and almost fell off the back as it did a wheel stand.
(I believe at the time NZ was one of the last places in the World racing 500cc 2 pokes...).
(Edited - I was thinking the bore was bigger, but it was the fact that the 500's were beating 1200cc 4's that stuck in my head.... I'll just stick to my old YZ250's

It has to be unrideable. It's almost spitting him off the dyno for Pete's sake! That's 195 Wheel HP concentrated into a really narrow power band. I am sure they have some kind of power valve on there to help but really what's the redline on that engine 10K? and that short wheelbase. You need brass bowling balls to ride that thing!

Used to own an RGV250m, god I miss 2 strokes, so should have kept it, cut my teeth on 2 stroke crossers, YZs ,RMs, KXs etc. Now ride an R6 and a Z900, but would love another screaming stroker. That exhaust noise is ear candy.

It is like the power to weight ratio of a modern 1000cc sportbike if the rider weighed nothing. So about 425 pounds total with bike and rider. Like if the throttle got stuck open, the rider fell off the bike, and the bike kept going full throttle.
