I was stationed in Germany and had a 1976 BMW R60 that I drove all over Bavaria and Lichtenstein and then had it shipped home. Loved it but then moved on to Triumph, Moto Morini, Laverda, Ducati and now Moto Guzzi. Still, some very fond memories of my old Beemer.--Mike Battle

Late to this video. This brought back happy memories. My first BMW was a well-worn but well-maintained 1970 R60/5 I bought from Stan's BMW in Doylestown PA. Then I bought a brand new 1976 R75/6, a used 1974 R90/6 and a new Red Smoke 1978 R100S. But it all started with my 1970 R60/5.

My friend let me ride his r60 after buying a r90s took it
on the interstate at 100mph felt like i was doing 60 mph incredibly stable pure precision

Thats because you WERE doing 60.. not capable of 100 and the speedometer were notorious for being off.

beautiful! the cloudy headlamp can be easily fixed....simply open it (there are clamps). washing drying reassembling takes 20 minutes.
