I would recommend older stuff!!! Wintersun - Battle Against Time 2.0 (Official Lyric Video) You can't go wrong with this if you want to hear something bit faster, I promise. Lonelisess requires right mood, so I suggest to save it for "rainy day" :)
Growing up American, I listened to almost all American and British heavy metal music. Now because of UA-cam and reaction videos I've discovered so much more. Wintersun and Nightwish (Finland), Soen and Opeth (Sweden) and I've discovered that Rammstein (Germany) has more than 1 great song. I'm 56 so finding so much great new (to me) music is amazing and I can't stop listening to it. Wintersun has jumped to the top of the list in my book because like Tank said, its like it was written for me. Definitely listen to "Loneliness" or "Land of Snow and Sorrow" next
As a Brit I get where you are coming from. I would personally recommend Myrkur if you want some more Scandinavian music; Amelie is an absolutely stunning songwriter and artist.
Just reading tour comment and finding I could echo it all. While Inlistened to a lot of Prog music from around the world, these recent discoveries coming out of Sweden and Finland, even India and Tunisia, etc, it’s not be of the best things to come out of the pandemic for me. A musical journey keeping me sane.
I didn't grow up a metal head as you can see from my avatar, but had friends who played in metal bands on 10th grade so I've been rediscovering metal through these reaction videos and just like tank the Finnish sound keeps drawing me in. I moved away from finland 25 years ago, but went back and did my military service in 97, but no matter how long I've been away these Wintersun songs bring back memories of the darkness and gloomy weather mixed with absolute beauty and brightness of Finnish nature. Chills, literal chills!
I've been listening wintersun since almost 15 years in Argentina. Now i've just moved into Finland one month ago and started to listen them again every day. Very happy to be here. I hope they can make a tour and see them live
I'm glad you enjoy the band! I hope you have great time here in FInland. I know it's dark and depressing here most of the time but once you get used to it, it's pretty chill :D

@@karljensen6768 hi! Good questions. Not I’ve been living in Finland for 1 1/2 years. I’m living in Lapland in a very small place (5000 people). Finns are a bit difficult to reach and gain their trust. But once you do it they’re really nice and they treat you very well. When they don’t know you they might just say hi or nothing. But i like they way of living and see things. One thing it calls my attention, that maybe is similar in other Nordic countries is that when they drink a little their personalities change completely (for good, they become a warm and talkative person), but the next day maybe they turn again into a shy person. And now we finally have Time II on the way! So stoked to have it in my lifetime, and Jari putting his demos on the same Time Package as well so we'll have a lot to listen to for a while. I personally want to hear the Fantasy Metal Project, as it might have some similarities to the first two Ensiferum albums as well. But of course, Time II is the one we've all been waiting for!
Tank❤🥰 I knew you would love this song! It's just SO GOOD!😊 Wintersun is finnish melancholy at it's best. Guitars are crying and Jari's voice makes your heart beat harder and cracks it a little bit....💕💔 Genius!
I mean... the other song on this album "Land of Snow and Sorrow" is also fantastic in my opinion. But I am fairly new to Wintersun as well. Time is the only album I have binged on so far. I just can't stop listening to it. This is definitely one of my favorite songs I have discovered this year, or more than that. And that's not to saying that "Sons of Winter and Stars" isn't also a monster track! You keep posting them and I'll keep watching them! Was first lured to your channel because I am a decades old Nightwish fan and also exclusively a fan of Floor Jansen pre-Nightwish and beyond. What! First Endlessness with Chase and now this?! It's a cold, grey, rainy Saturday here so I definitely need to thank you both for making it better! Reminder set 👌👌
Saw the title for what this one was. Had to watch this immediately. Because these guys are so talented it is mind blowing. Jari has this ability to compose these songs that just come to life, much like Tuomas does for Nightwish, and how do you even begin to quantify that ability? Meanwhile, obviously, Kai is an absolute drum beast. Super technically talented, with so much passion in his playing. Jukka's bass playing just holds everything together, this solid backbone for everything to work on. Then. You get to Teemu. Teemu Mäntysaari. He actually teaches guitar privately over Skype, in person when they're touring, and in Helsinki. He's an incredible player, and has some of the cleanest technique I've seen. That LACS guitar of his is a beautiful piece of work, too. As far as next tracks? I think Awaken From The Dark Slumber (Spring) Live at Summer Breeze 2017 would be a killer one.
Glad to see there are other people who appreciate this band as much as I do! Their albums + Amorphis were my favorite music on in the car last winter, helping me to wake up in the cold mornings and prepare for my battles of the day 😅😅
Yes, Tuomas and Jari are leagues beyond anything and in their fields are both the best. They cannot be compared, but I'd be giving my life to see a joint-album of these two. It'll either be something that is so beyond the scope of what we have experienced, or simply impossible.
The first time I heard and watched this video ,my blood was doing crazy things, I felt a lot of feeling at the same time. My eyes bounced back and fourth , I-was mesmerized,,, All I know I was sold ! Where was I all this time? Finding them is Great!!

Land of Winter and Sorrow & Loneliness, which have already mentioned (it's a bit different, a sad ballad - on the memory of his father after he passed away).

loved the reaction! Wintersun is one of my fav bands, I would recommend you to check the forest that weeps, loneliness, sleeping stars (live version) and starchild. Also you should check the band Ensiferum, if you don't know about them, they are an amazing band and was the former band of jaari, where he was the vocalist in their first 2 albums, the song "hero in a dream" is just a masterpiece
I listened to them the first time in around 2005 when i was 15 years old, 2006 i went to a concert with Wintersun as Guest and Amon Amarth as main act, was fuckin awesome. I bought the first album back then, good times.

YES !! Finally some more Wintersun here :) Great reaction man, probably one of the few bands with an absolutely flawless discography, can't go wrong with any of their songs. For something heavier and more "raw" I recommend Battle Against Time or Winter Madness (mind blowing solo in this one) both from their first record, both incredible songs
I adore this song, winter sun are a very understated band. I love all the shifts, twists and turns the music takes. Jari is an amazing singer and composer.
Tank, I love your videos. I think that every time I watch one, and again today. I love your headbanging, your enthusiasm, your knowledge, your Tank Facts. Great job man! I wish you all the best.
Hi Tank! Thank you for reacting to this epic masterpiece. I've heard this live twice as the finale song to their gigs. It's an unforgettable experience. There is a third song left to this studio live session. Propably my favourite one too, called Land of snow and sorrow. Hope u react to that one too. Ws doesn't have musicvideos but one, Battle Against Time, and the rest are lyrics vids but i think Jari made them himself. There are some video releases from live shows from festivals like Summer Breeze and Karmoygeddon in utube that are of good quality. Then there is the Tuska live. When they toured US 2018 they filmed most of the shows so there is hope we'll get a full live release someday hopefully.. who knows. They also released a "new song" while over there to give their US fans smth special. It's not revealed officially from which album it is from but we the fanbase think it's from Time II a song called 'Storm'. Very powerful song. Aand Jari likes to be very mysterious about things. Lol. I wanted to mention that Jari is a huuuge Devin Townsend fan. And is constantly looking to find and improve guitarsounds. Check his utube channel for f.ex pick-up tests etc. He also dropped playing the guitar live to focus on the vocals and they got another guitarist on board. Teemu took over Jari's parts and Asim Searah plays Teemu's now since 2017 or -18. Teemu is a well respected guitar teacher and now since the launch of Ws patreon Jari and Asim have done lessons online too. About the drummers Heikki has been on board a lot but also Rolf Pilve from Stratovarius and at some point Timo Häkkinen too. Btw. if i remember correctly there are around 1500 tracks in SOWAS. If any of my knowledge here is missplaced please feel free and correct me. M
Rolf Pilve also played with Wintersun when Kai was playing with Nightwish, Rolf is probably best known for playing drums in the Finnish power metal band Stratovarius
that was awesome we be in the same boat the two songs by WINTERSUN that you have reacted to are the only songs i have heard by this group. i need to check out more have a great weekend c-ya
Oh man, I've been waiting on this one and you delivered Tank. I personally can't decide which track to do next, too many awesome options. But since you obviously enjoy complex music with extreme vocals I have to recommend "The Ocean Collective". They just released an new album today and it's incredible. The epic on the album is Jurassic | Cretaceous that will take you on a journey. Or you could go for Pleistocene which has a great video and a unforgettable ending. I can't wait for more Wintersun too!
Great vid, came here to start hyping myself for Time II at the end of the month!! Saw them play this in a packed sweaty bar with a couple of hundred people, best gig I've ever seen \m/
Loneliness next! Both the regular and acoustic version. It's their most emotional song by far. One of the inspirations behind the whole album Forest Seasons is Vivaldi's Four seasons.
Wintersun is fucking incredible. Time I is a masterpiece of an album. I've seen them live once. They sound the same live and they do on their albums. Having the whole crowd singing along to these songs is just a great time. One of the best shows I've ever been to. "Loneliness" and "Starchild" are great choices to react to next.
Next it would be great to hear a little older and faster Wintersun. This song is one of the best guitar solos ever.😊 Wintersun Winter Madness Live @ Summer Breeze 2017
Wintersun may take a long time between album releases, but I think you would agree it is absolutely worth the wait. Every album is an epic masterpiece of composition and musicianship. You cannot rush that kind of quality! Welcome to the Wintersun party brother!
As many already said... "Loneliness" next. Even though I think the Forest Seasons is to be appreciated in it's fullness, a reaction on Loneliness is mandatory, and the story behind that music still makes me shed a tear, so much emotion behind it.
Great reaction! They have one last song from Sonic Pump called Land of Snow and Sorrow. Other than that, I echo what's already been said, Loneliness is a great track that actually makes you feel cold and sad at once. Winter Madness has a face melting solo by Jari. That's off the first album from 2004 where Jari played every instrument and track himself besides drums, definitely worth a listen
Greetings from Finland, the most metal country in the world - e.g. Finland: has about 700 metal bands per 1M inhabitants, The U.S. has less than 5. That being said, everyone should have some time for "Time", which is also what the kanji on the neck of Teemu's green guitar means. P.S. Kai Hahto has already recorded the drums for Time II in 2015, if my memory serves, but like you said, no release date is set yet. Wintersun has also added a new guitarist, Asim Searah; for their live shows since 2017 as Jari nowadays only sings when they perform live. P.S.S. I highly recommend that you also check out Jukka's (the bassist) former band, that broke up in 2012: Norther- Mirror of Madness ua-cam.com/video/cTtSq3ZRfUE/v-deo.html
Even the children grow up with heavy metal as there is band called Hevisaurus that plays children music😉 If you check their song Hevisaurus - 100, you might spot some familiar faces😁
Yeah another Wintersun, which can only be good! Though, before seeing the full video you already earned the thumbs up for playing Amorphis - Death of a King in the background :D edit: and of course for Finntroll - Trollhammaren at the end ;)
btw what most reactors are missing about this live rehearsal version that its actually two songs from the album Time I. "Darkness and Frost" (an instrumental) and "Time"
I had a chance to catch these guys live back in 2012 when they toured for Time I, they headlined with Fleshgod Apocalypse as support. Was an awesome packed show in a small club in Phoenix, they ended the night with Time II, sadly i can't remember the song anymore, but it was really awesome. On a side note, Jari is a HUGE perfectionist.
Please react to Wardruna ! You will love them! As viking as it gets! 😃 Wardruna - Raido. An amazing song! And the « word» Raido is infact a rune, it stands for overcoming challenges, travel, adventure and so much more i could write a short novel 😊🙈😊🇳🇴 I have watched ur reaction to this masterpiece like 15 times now btw 🌸🌸✨👌🏼🇳🇴 You are awesome man! I just want to give you a friendly hug over the screen everytime i see you
4:35 I have witnessed a computer freeze up once during a metal show, for Nightwish - The Greatest Show On Earth when they came through Western Canada on the Endless Forms Most Beautiful tour. They were playing the start of Greatest Show, and about 4 minutes in the backing track just cuts out, but the band, being the pros they are, just did it mostly with what they had, with Tuomas instantly filling in on some parts on the keyboard. It was only when they got to the stone age part that they had to call the song off, and they did it so smoothly that it didn't even feel like a cutoff... just like a song had ended naturally. Absolute masters of their craft, Nightwish are. Maybe a bit of roadie talk about it, but we didn't see any techs apart from the drum tech try to fix anything, I assume the stage master or head roadie was in Tuomas' earpiece because he did glance off stage and nod, then shook his head, then nodded twice and kept playing.
First: Thanks for starting this channel. I found it less than a month ago, and it's definitely my favorite reaction youtube-channel already. Second: Glad you found Wintersun, they are absolutely brilliant Third: A suggestion; Circus Maximus - Architecture Of Fortune from their live release Havoc In Oslo. World class prog metal. And if you ever want to make a reaction to a studio-recording you must check out Lost Horizon - Highlander. Probably the best vocal performance ever recorded.
When I saw you reviewed Time, I was super excited, cos when I first heard this I was blown away. It was right before I was to go to bed, and couldn't sleep cos I was so wired.
Loneliness next. Very touching song as it is influenced by Jari's father's death. Touching and needless to say amazing.
Love your work, keep on going!
Jarii posted on Facebook, that he is currently working on 4 Wintersun albums, including Time II. Whatever he has coming will be awesome!
Gotta finish the studio sessions with land of snow and sorrow. Another beautiful tear jerking masterpiece!
I adore this song, winter sun are a very understated band. I love all the shifts, twists and turns the music takes.
Jari is an amazing singer and composer.
Gotta love this song and your reaction!
We deffinetly have some grazy stuff coming from Finland :D
Tank, I love your videos. I think that every time I watch one, and again today. I love your headbanging, your enthusiasm, your knowledge, your Tank Facts. Great job man! I wish you all the best.
Thank you so much!
So beautiful! I can’t think of anything else to say about this piece of music! Keep rockin’ it out! 🤘🏻❤️
M
Can hear Hevy Devy in his sound.
Love the use of Amorphis in the background of the video Tank 🤟
I am new to your channel and this is my first time watching this video. I also subscribe. Also, it is my favorite band and song.
Awesome! Thank you!
You are playing Finntroll in the end, well done sir!
Loneliness is my fav.The voice of this guy is fantastic!
The Time II Package can be ordered since 2 days ! I ordered the package :-) I am really looking foward the release 🙂 !
Loneliness next! Both the regular and acoustic version. It's their most emotional song by far. One of the inspirations behind the whole album Forest Seasons is Vivaldi's Four seasons.
I think this is the best of a truly excellent Pump studio video set, haven't watched it yet, but betting you're absolutely blown away.
Omg those guitars sound heavenly
Yey!! Been waiting for this! 😃👌🏼⭐️ So cool of you to react to this beautiful song! 🙏🏼✨😊
I knew you would like it! 😃😃⭐️⭐️👌🏼
Favorite UA-cam channel, hands down.
Thank you!
You will love the Forest Seasons album as well.
I can not get enough of watching this reaction! 😊😃👌🏼 I love ur honesty, your channel , and your face ( yep ) 😃👌🏼🇳🇴🇳🇴⭐️🤗🤗
Thank You Tank! Maybe there's a little finnish melancholy in you, since these bands has had a crasp of your soul hahaa 🤘🏻
Next it would be great to hear a little older and faster Wintersun. This song is one of the best guitar solos ever.😊 Wintersun Winter Madness Live @ Summer Breeze 2017
Epicness 🖤🖤🖤 .great reaction..🔥🔥🔥..keel safe and healthy. 🤟
Time II is here!
I think u should comple the hat trick and react to "Land of snow and sorrow" next. Last one of the Sonic pump studios stuff.. I think.
thank you so much for making these awesome videos, your expertise brings a really cool angle to these.
Wintersun may take a long time between album releases, but I think you would agree it is absolutely worth the wait. Every album is an epic masterpiece of composition and musicianship. You cannot rush that kind of quality! Welcome to the Wintersun party brother!
This is more like a painting than a metal piece.
Jari is amazing. got to know him through ensiferum, their first album is incredible and i warmly recommend listening to anything from it.
man never heard of them and they are absolutely amazing, time to listen to them in the hi-fi system NOW
Man you make my exact face every time I listen to wintersun. They are such an experience to withhold.
the talent is BREATHLESS
Excellent choice! These studio vids are beautiful!
As many already said... "Loneliness" next. Even though I think the Forest Seasons is to be appreciated in it's fullness, a reaction on Loneliness is mandatory, and the story behind that music still makes me shed a tear, so much emotion behind it.
Great Reaction Tank, you are a great Guy, greetings from Germany 🤟
Danke!
Yay!
What a sound!
A wall of pure talent.
More!
That face though, it reads "If I jam to this song on daily basis, will my hair grow out long like these guys?" 🍻
Tank goes wild!! Wonderful!🙃
It's 2024 and Time 2 just released, 11 years later 😂
But damn it's good
Greetings from Finland, the most metal country in the world - e.g.
@@siddni_ I know & wish they had been around when I was still a child some 50+ years ago.
Awesome stuff dude, thanks for the tech bits. For more of these guys try Death and the Healing or Winter Madness please
Yeah another Wintersun, which can only be good! Though, before seeing the full video you already earned the thumbs up for playing Amorphis - Death of a King in the background :D
edit: and of course for Finntroll - Trollhammaren at the end ;)
btw what most reactors are missing about this live rehearsal version that its actually two songs from the album Time I. "Darkness and Frost" (an instrumental) and "Time"
I didn’t know it was both songs until UA-cam hit me with a copyright claim for both of them. 😂
Have seen them on the 70000 tons in 2015 .... they are an amazing live band.
Some bands could have easliy made about 10 songs out of the amount of riffs which are in one Wintersun song :D amazing!
Please see Sabaton - En Livstid I Krig live! They got the view from the Stage to the crowd, and it is unbelieveble.
Soon. 😎
Caught these guys live at Heavy MTL in the forest stage. Was the tour for this album. Blew me away!
First: Thanks for starting this channel. I found it less than a month ago, and it's definitely my favorite reaction youtube-channel already.
Second: Glad you found Wintersun, they are absolutely brilliant
Third: A suggestion; Circus Maximus - Architecture Of Fortune from their live release Havoc In Oslo. World class prog metal.
And if you ever want to make a reaction to a studio-recording you must check out Lost Horizon - Highlander. Probably the best vocal performance ever recorded.
Thanks a ton, man! Much appreciated!
When I saw you reviewed Time, I was super excited, cos when I first heard this I was blown away. It was right before I was to go to bed, and couldn't sleep cos I was so wired.
Seriously, as I know you have found a love for Finnish bands, please listen to Huuto from Moonsorrow. And Shudder Before the Beautiful for next Nightwish Wednesday.
I saw many people recommending Death & the Healing. Seconded, thirded, whatever, but please do the 2.0 version of it! Your reaction was a joy to watch as always.
Can this channel get much more subs people?!! I love this dude's reactions and breakdowns! 💯👏🏼👌🏼🇳🇴 He is such a likeable person!
Thanks Camilla!
@@TankTheTech You are so welcome man ! 💯🤗
Wintersun - Loneliness, beautiful and emotional ballad
Love this song, means a lot 4 me, btw yours reaction video is great also, keep it on.
