My mother told me when she was alive that the most important and most popular holiday back in the 1930s and 40s was Easter and then Christmas after that. It makes sense to me because people were more religious back then. ❤🇺🇸🙏🏻👍🏻
I remember Easter well, back in the 1960s when I would have on my little suit with my shiny black shoes and all my sisters would be wearing their little ruffled dresses and shiny white shoes. Then my mother would have our Easter baskets sitting on the dining room table filled to the brim with Easter candy and I would always get my giant 2 lb solid chocolate bunny that I used to sit there and gnaw on it. Then we would all be dressed up and put on a brand new Easter coats and go to church and some women would still be wearing veils over their face, and in the back of the church was a quiet room with a glass window where mothers with crying babies with sit so everybody else did not have to hear the babies crying. My mother made a big deal about Easter there was so much food and and many homemade desserts and cherry cheesecake and pies and cakes and everything. It was a completely different world back then in the 1960s and early to mid-seventies 🤔
Good snowy Saturday! The Easter items were very nice and such a nice variety too. Any ladies clothing for the holiday? I did not have a chance to drive to the closest restaurant so I would imagine that most of the Valentines is either picked over or completely sold out. Thanks for taking me inside the store.
