I find it to be that when you are taught the truth by Jesus himself, you come to know who Israel is and who the Edomites are. "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me." I understand! Back in 1972 a movie came out called, Guess Who's Coming to Dinner. I knew it was a propaganda film. The only thing I have a problem with is using apocryphal books as reference. The Apocrypha is something the Catholic Church pushes and was set apart for a reason in the KJV (the translators basically said it was included to appease the Catholics, but wasn’t supposed to be considered divinely inspired. I know there’s a lot of controversy over this and I’m not trying to be argumentative, but The Catholic connection to the apocrypha is icky and I don’t know if that is okay not
Those books are not inspired by God. I think they add clarity to the word of God. You'd use references for clarity and they're not inspired by God. Say like a dictionary for instance, that's why the Apocrypha books were in the 1500s bibles too. Preachers only used those books as a reference guide and not to be used as inspired by God.
I think if they're going to use those apocrypha books, they'd probably should add a disclaimer to the fact that those books are not part of the Canon of scripture and using it for reference ONLY.
Hi. You're wrong about the Apocrypha being Catholic. It was written long before there were any Catholics. It was removed from scripture, but Catholics didn't remove it. But it was there b3fore any Catholic.
"Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual." 1Cor. 15:46. Your lesson here is about the natural side of the story and the natural side of it does not give any food, but knowledge, to those who have a spiritual hunger. Rebekah was a chosen wessel of the Lord and the Lord would not bring upon her those sufferingst, through bearing the struggling Esau within her, if it was not to become the "afterward" spiritual blessing and teaching to those saint´s who, now in the New Covenant time, experience the very same thing as Rebekah did, and asking the very same question: "If it be so, why am I thus?", in these words; "O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?" Rom. 7:24. The "afterward" blessed spiritual message is that the Esau-struggle within every saint, Romans 7:14-21, Gal. 5:17, has come to an end on the cross of Christ, for there even the Esau-nature was nailed to the cross, ... FOREVER! Col. 2:14.
It doesn't matter what race or color we belong to, but our beliefs. We are made new in Christ JESUS. This is what the LORD meant when HE said we must be born of the spirit. There are thousands of true believers everywhere around the world. At the end, the LORD will sort us out, some of us to everlasting damnation, some of us to everlasting life in His glory.

Pastor...one of the best sermons. You tied it all together. BUT...there is a verse that causes issue. What about Deut. 23:7? I presume this means those few Edomites who break from their evil instinct toward Israel and seek no harm?. How do we reconcile this verse?. When teaching on this topic, this is a verse often overlooked or ignored.
Regarding the word “Edomite” in Deuteronomy 23:7, Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible - Seventh Printing June 2015 (page 1471), refers to H726: “a clerical error for H130; an Edomite (as in the margin): --- Syrian.” So, due to a clerical error, the word “Syrian” should be used to replace the word “Edomite” as set forth in Deuteronomy 23:7.
How can they be two separate seed lines, when they both came from the same seed line? That makes no sense. Nor do I understand how Jacob was deemed to be righteous, yet it was he who refused to help/feed his brother, and it was Jacob who as good as cheated his brother out of his birthright? Great teaching. It unfortunately gets a bit more complicated. For we read in Kings that it was the children of Israel who killed the prophets. And yes, Edom was always the adversary of Israel. But also within Israel there were adversaries. Jesus even called Peter an adversary when he opposed God's will. The good and the bad figs were both of Israel. 1:31, "...and the Lord said, that he hated Esau ..." We get an altogether wrong and confuced picture of our heavenly Father by interpreting these words literally. It´s even a contradiction of the wisdom of God by teaching that God literally hated Esau. The background is that "...Isaac entreated the Lord for his wife, because she was barren: and the Lord was entreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived." Thus follows that both Esau and Jacob was a gift from the Lord to Isaac and Rebekah, and be sure, the Lord would never give them a gift that he Himself hated. "And Isaac loved Esau ... ". Was Isaac such a worldly man that he loved that which God hated? Of course not! Yes, Esau was a worldly man but that is not any cause to believe that God hated him, .... because God loves the world. The meaning, underneath the letter, is that Esau is a representative of that which God hates, ... "...the works of the flesh."

I understand! Back in 1972 a movie came out called, Guess Who's Coming to Dinner. I knew it was a propaganda film. A white woman brought a black man, I suppose her lover, to her parents home for dinner. Two of my brothers were watching the movie and I went into a rage, and we started to fight. It's a longer story than that. I felt ashamed that I was fighting my brothers so stopped and left the house.

The only thing I have a problem with is using apocryphal books as reference. The Apocrypha is something the Catholic Church pushes and was set apart for a reason in the KJV (the translators basically said it was included to appease the Catholics, but wasn’t supposed to be considered divinely inspired. I know there’s a lot of controversy over this and I’m not trying to be argumentative, but The Catholic connection to the apocrypha is icky and I don’t know if that is okay not
Those books are not inspired by God. I think they add clarity to the word of God. You'd use references for clarity and they're not inspired by God. Say like a dictionary for instance, that's why the Apocrypha books were in the 1500s bibles too. Preachers only used those books as a reference guide and not to be used as inspired by God.
I think if they're going to use those apocrypha books, they'd probably should add a disclaimer to the fact that those books are not part of the Canon of scripture and using it for reference ONLY.

God also gave up on the descendants of Esau, because they are broken cisterns, that cannot hold the water. That is the primary cause.

I presume this means those few Edomites who break from their evil instinct toward Israel and seek no harm?. How do we reconcile this verse?. When teaching on this topic, this is a verse often overlooked or ignored.
Regarding the word “Edomite” in Deuteronomy 23:7, Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible - Seventh Printing June 2015 (page 1471), refers to H726: “a clerical error for H130; an Edomite (as in the margin): --- Syrian.”
So, due to a clerical error, the word “Syrian” should be used to replace the word “Edomite” as set forth in Deuteronomy 23:7.
How can they be two separate seed lines, when they both came from the same seed line? That makes no sense. Nor do I understand how Jacob was deemed to be righteous, yet it was he who refused to help/feed his brother, and it was Jacob who as good as cheated his brother out of his birthright? For we read in Kings that it was the children of Israel who killed the prophets.
And yes, Edom was always the adversary of Israel.
But also within Israel there were adversaries.
Jesus even called Peter an adversary when he opposed God's will.
The good and the bad figs were both of Israel.

Doesn't negate salvation, it simply demonstrates righteousness.. Also, he clearly refers to children of the Devil, not Esau.. I really admire and appreciate 95% of the teaching, just the attempts to legitimize the Serpent Seed narrative which I know a lot about, I find disappointing..

1:31, "...and the Lord said, that he hated Esau ..." We get an altogether wrong and confuced picture of our heavenly Father by interpreting these words literally. It´s even a contradiction of the wisdom of God by teaching that God literally hated Esau. The background is that "...Isaac entreated the Lord for his wife, because she was barren: and the Lord was entreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived." Thus follows that both Esau and Jacob was a gift from the Lord to Isaac and Rebekah, and be sure, the Lord would never give them a gift that he Himself hated. "And Isaac loved Esau ... ". Was Isaac such a worldly man that he loved that which God hated? Of course not! Yes, Esau was a worldly man but that is not any cause to believe that God hated him, .... because God loves the world. The meaning, underneath the letter, is that Esau is a representative of that which God hates, ... "...the works of the flesh."
