lol I can't tell you because I don't know myself what I'll be doing next. Welcome to the chaos.

Wow, that's really cool. I don't know where you come up with this sort of thing, but don't stop. I'm here for it!😂

thanks Ray, just playing around and trying something that I haven't seen before.

It's super interesting to follow your various projects and tests. I do have a hard time seeing in my head how you can merge 6 sides into 5. I could possibly imagine 6:3, 8:4 or some other whole-number ratio. Or everything coming to a perfect circle at the center... I'm excited to see where this ends.

Thanks Carsten, I'm really just playing because I hadn't seen any multi axis turning with different numbers of sides on either end. Not sure whether this will be a dead end or something interesting.

What if you mark your center points on each end for the two shapes, keep the drive center in the center but turn the shape on the tail stock end from the center out? Now you have me thinking.

Yes Doug, I'm thinking that too. I am going to try a triangle to square transition next and that is my plan. Not sure about blending the transitions in the centre yet. Playing that bit by ear. Thanks

When lining up the rest do you parallel it to the rotational axis of the stocks I see your hands are braced on the rest. I’m wrapping my head around the mechanics not even thinking about the geometry yet. I may have to go back and see if I missed a previous video tho

yes. Its lined up approx parallel to the rotating face. There is a slight twist on each face, which increases with every subsequent face.
This is not the shape I want because the faces are convex, but it gets me a step closer to it.

@@danceswithaardvarks3284 I see the twist angle your rotation on the wood is going thru I was just curious if the constant was the parallel point for the turning. I see what you’re going for and understand this one for once.

Ok are you on to something new or is this part of the doodling 😊

Not part of the spirograph. That will be ongoing.
This is trying to make a shape for a salt and pepper pot. Two pots of the same shape fit together in a fairly surprising way. Not sure yet whether it is possible to make the shape this way.
      Thanks Liz

Wow how many projects are you into? Or are they all part of the same?
