Wow great job Aaron you have done RAAF pround. Recently i was detail paiting a green & white X-wing fighter with variouse enamel metalic colors using my Humbrol paints. I was painting with a silver color when tip that little tin of silver over, in seconds it had flowed everywhere on my bench including lower surfaces of the x-wing that touching my bench. What mess...well i repainted the x-wing black and a extremly blacked midnight blue. Now i back at detail painting again. Note: im not using Humbrol colors the second time around. You know i really like this color scheme then my originial green & white scheme. Hey video, really enjoyed it. And knowing that stuff happens to everyone.
Tx for that video. I’m just retired and began to restart my plastic modeling days. Your video is enlightening and helps me get caught up with this hobbies glueing, painting, and assembling techniques. Would love to see more. Keep up the good work.
Hi Aaron, that was a excellent conversation build, it did not appear to be any real fit issues apart from your 'crap on a stick' moment, thank again for the video, very best regards to you and the team at FSM, from a Kiwi now living in Melbourne 👍👍👍👍👍
Doh! Great recovery from potential disaster! I get very nervous with resin conversion sets as some fit ok while others can require a whole lot of work to get acceptable results. Nice work on this project Aaron!
Very timely video as I am getting ready to do this same conversion and scheme. I like the idea of the decorator scissors! My conversion will be with the Academy P-38E kit (since that's what I have). I'm hoping I can adapt up the CMK resin without too much trouble. Thanks for sharing your work. Beautiful work on the F-4. And sorry about the paint spill, that is one of those things that makes you say, "I'll get back to this tomorrow."
Taking a high road? Italeri has an F-5 model of the Lightning. It looks smashing though. I am intrigued with Australia's Boomerang's & Whirraway's though.
I have been modelling since the early 1990s and I learned something new. Yea!

Thanks for showing that everyone has catastrophic accidents from time to time
You're welcome! We've all been there. At least I didn't drop it...yet... AS
I almost had a heart attack when you spilled the paint over a recent painted model.😢.
I like this new video series, waiting for more ... next week.
If you thought you had a heart attack, you should have seen Aaron. He's still in recovery. Thanks for watching!
Great save and nice looking end result.

Dude! I screamed when you spilled that! Kuddos to you, "Crap on a stick" is not what I'd been yelling. Great job!
Oh, there were so many other things said after the video camera was shut off. Definitely NSFW.
Thanks for sharing. A great subject to model in Aussie colours.
Thanks for watching. Everything looks great in Aussie colors, am I right? - AS
Nice work good to see Aussie subjects. 👍🍻
My favorite kind. Thanks!
Great job Aaron. You’re a good man, I would’ve cursed so bad if that happened to me.
Thanks! Trust me, I said worse. So much worse. It didn't make the final cut...
👍 Bravo very very nice job
Don’t worry about paint mess … I do worst with mr surfacer everywhere 😂

Yeah, the Tamiya kit goes together like a Tamiya kit. The resin parts were more of an issue, but nothing unfixable. Thanks for watching!

Thank you. Most of my problems here were of my own making.
Just built the Academy P-38J
Awesome plain !👍
The Lightning is always sharp!
Fine job! I am waiting for them to make a kit to convert the J model into an F-5E in tribute of a lost family member.

Bravo
Very nice. Makes me want to get a Lightning!
Thank you!

Aaron has a Wirraway in his stash, so it may show up here,
9:39 always cap your bottles, gentlemen!
Indeed!
Thanks for showing how to paint... need to show more like this near future. Are Masking putty reusable?
Poster putty and Silly Putty are definitely reusable for masking. Thanks for watching!
Great done! And be careful with resin's dust - it is very harmful! All the best for You! ;)
Thanks for the tip!
Does anyone know if there is a conversion for the F-5E Recon version for the Tamiya P-38J in 1/48th scale??? TIA!
Not that we're aware of. But given time, there will be.
Reconnnnnnn !
Smile! You're on camera.
"Crap on a stick!" 🙉
Great finish on the model but the props are on the wrong sides…
If they are then that is easily fixed.Thank you polucaps!
@@FineScaleModelermagazine Exactly…
Very nice but it's just a simple nose replacement, what could go wrong.....
There's always a way! Thanks for watching!
They put a model of young Darth Vader in the wax museum.
Actually, it was Mannequin Skywalker.
Groan. My response to that joke is like the body temperature of Tauntaun - Lukewarm.
I guessed you were Aussie (I grew up there too)
Indeed. I was in Brisbane. Where did you grow up?
