I had a similar situation happen many years ago when I randomly stated that my bellybutton was a round hole. Everyone in the room was rendered speechless until they began laughing. 😅
In retrospect, it should've been obvious that this was an araki anime. It has all the hallmarks, including characters just stating tbe utterly god damn obvious
@AT Productions The more things change, the more they also stay the same. Though this anime is the formula of (80s-90s action) anime tropes incarnate.
That one line that sticks with you, doesn't have any meaning or hits you with a interesting metaphor. Its that line that made you laugh at how silly it is
I purchased this movie as a bootleg VHS in the 90's in Times Square NYC. Anime for me then was like going to the comic shop to see what had dropped. :: Baoh, Guyver: Out of Control, Gunbuster, Black Magic M66, Spriggan, Legend of the Overfiend, Projeck A-ko, Midnight Eye, Ninjas of the Magic Wind (aka "Wind Ninja Chronicles" aka "Ninja Scroll.") They were still calling it "Japanime" then, and boy, it could do no wrong.❤
Personally, I prefer the new approach to his reviews. I've never been a big fan of reviews that summarise a film/anime or whatever and then finish up with the reviewer's opinion. And this is coming from someone who watches Brandon Tenold.
You are right bro. But what you would not understand is that these cartoons (anime) in particular was made for Asia and Japanese. Even i remember in those days, we wouldn't be able to understand a lot of things. for example in your detonator orgun review video you mentioned about the jaguar car model or finger flick automated house or the 1000s of years reference in the 200 years. While the real details are missing. In Asia just using terms like thousands and millions creates a sense of elevated excitement among audience. Just the visuals of a finger flicking automated house would give a sense of futuristic. The audience really don't think about the mechanics much. And as children we hardly used to understand much of American Disney movies but i see what you mean. Your videos also helped me understand how things are composed in a story with purpose also in reality in the western world. This makes more sense actually. I agree with this. and the explanation what I gave was a cultural context that i hope gives you a pic why somethings in anim were made the way they are. It is related to the culture of the time in this region.
Linkara’s “I’m a man!” gag is stupid more due to how overused and repetitive it is instead of how self-evident it is. Ironic, considering it was created to mock a very stupid moment from a Superman comic.
i view baoh in the same catagory of that one anime where the dubbers decided to just have fun and make "something" out of what was really boring stuff in the original japanese
Imagine living in a world where Baoh doesn't have a laser cannon, I shudder to think.
After binging Jojo, this is the least bizarre thing I’ve heard.
Yeah but with Jojo it’s all insane on purpose 😂
Thank you for introducing me to this iconic moment Sage.

Love these shorts sage my boy 👍 this scene in particular 😂
I want a bald, bespectacled, mustachioed man to boldly narrate everything I do. I guess first I have to figure out how to turn blue...
Even after 30 years, Im still a fan of Boah who may have inspired Guyver.
This episode made me pick up a copy of baoh.
Hawaii is really bizarre right now.
My favorite joke from this episode will always be the "Baoh Wow" bit with the dog.
thank you
White snake has a gun
ah the good old days. When you went through and experienced the anime with us, instead of just talking about it.
Blame copyright

Boah has a lazer cannon.
..........
Baoh deserves a remake!
Shots fired at Linkara! lol
Shots fired at Phelous, Linkara, Nostalgia Critic, and the whole running gag formula popular on Channel Awesome.
Ahh, the classics.

Any chance of reviewing Record of Lodoss War and Legend of Crystania?
Stating the obvious. Par for the course in Japanese media but something of a taboo in American media. LoL funny how that works, sometimes. :)
XD
Jojo
but is Baoh set in one of the Jojo universes?
Not quite, Baoh is a manga read in the Jojo universe as a blink and you'll miss it reference.
Sama Mangaka if I'm correct.

Ghost stories?
Though there was definitely a lot more than one that did that
