Since I discovered the existence of this fabulous band on You Tube, I am constantly going from surprise to discovery! Once again, the Tri-Tones manage to do better than the original (Jack & Jim 1959)! The Tri-Tones version is completely different from the original in terms of orchestration and reminds me Screaming Lord Sutch recordings produced by the legendary Joe Meek such as Till the following night, Jack the Ripper, She's fallen in love with the monster man etc...A She's my witch/Midnight Monsters Hop single would be a hit in the charts !!! The clip is marvelous like She's my witch !
Late one night when the moon was called, The Midnight Monsters had a ball, At the county morgue ’til the break of day, You could hear those monsters say, “Hey ghoul! (Hey ghoul!), You’re cool! (You’re cool!)”, At the Midnight Monsters Hop. The Mummy was ‘a frontin’ the band, On the yakety sax - the Invisible Man, The Zombie on the voodoo drum, And the guitar man was a real weird one, They scowled! (They scowled!), And they howled! (And howled!) At the Midnight Monsters Hop. - BREAKDOWN INSTRUMENTAL - Dracula was standing at the bar, Sipping blood from an old fruit jar, The Werewolf was ‘a acting the clown, Gnawing on a leg of sam-, Tastes good! (Tastes good!), Well it should! (It should!), At the Midnight Monsters Hop. The Gruesome Twosome in fond embrace, There ‘a slippin’ and ‘a slidin’ all over the place, There with Vampira and Frankenstein, Damn those cats was having a time, Hooey! (Hooey!), Spooky! (Spooky!) At the Midnight Monsters Hop. - BREAKDOWN INSTRUMENTAL - Just before the break of day, The monsters all are on their way, Back to their coffins in the old graveyard, The Headless Horseman was ‘a riding hard, They’re gone! (They’re gone!), Gone gone! (Gone gone!) At the Midnight Monsters Hop. They’re gone! (They’re gone!), Gone gone! (Gone gone!) At the Midnight Monsters Hop, At the Midnight Monsters Hop, At the Midnight Monsters Hop, At the Midnight Monsters Hop.
Michael wasn't in most of the movie, he had like 5 mins while Corey on the other hand here had most of the screen time, plus it wasn't even about Michael. All I can say is it was basically a love story so I give it a 4/10
Me! Gonna download it, copy it to my car's USB stick. Mitsubishi Power Sound System 500 watts will take care of it.....Some things make life worth living for....

Sorry but no cover will ever beat the original 1959 hit by jack and jim
EXACTLY...this version is too whiney with that gal being so shrill
