I just went through paperwork with my 14yo. I have items im keeping for my my memory box. I had her her to go through ones that she wanted to keep. I have a HUGE long Sterlite container, that has memory items in. When my daughter was little i loved getting her Leap Frog and Melissa and Doug toys. Educational yet Fun at the same time.
Back in my day we used blankets there were no fancy anything. My kids thank goodness are alive. Since I take care of my grandchildren they learned early to cover themselves up if they got cold. We always play games with the blankets before they go to sleep this is how they learned it.
As your boys get more older they will be excited over experiences. I gifted of grandson and of course his parents a Major League Baseball game. I made a certificate up and a jersey with his favorite player. I believe he was 9 or 10. He LOVED it
Hi Catherine, I suggest that you and your husband to seal the cracks on other part of the basement. Try Zevo plus ins and Spray handy for Pest Control.
We have so much work to do in the basement, we need to do a huuuuge declutter & then work on sealing it up! Right now there’s so much stuff it’s hard to get around
I’ve been busy decluttering too! Thanks for the motivation 😊 I highly recommend sticky spider traps behind/under things where the kids can’t get them. Also maybe try diffusing peppermint essential oil, I’ve never tried it but heard that spiders hate it.
Hi Catherine- I've been wrapping gifts today to. Good quality wrapping paper is brilliant, less chance of it tearing. Last year, I used up the cheap thin paper. This year we had better quality giving us peace of mind it won't tear. I make a xmas list in October. It means we can think about what to buy and start buying early to avoid xmas rush.❤
In Australia we are more likely to have hot/warm weather than cold, but we do have ducted air conditioning. Ive used the love to dream sleep suits, the winter ones are thick, and they do older age groups now, who could try your little one in those if he wont keep a blanket on
I actually agree with this, however my oldest son has the craziest memory and like a sixth sense. He will ask me literally that day where something is that he hasn’t played with in a year 😂
I absolutely did. But, I understand that they didn't think they mattered to me cuz they were always on the floor. But the toys that were ALWAYS out were out cuz they were favorites n I have object permanence issues n had zero storage options. Later, I realized I like bookcases with open n closed storage options.
It depends very much on age. If they’re older than 3 or 4, they remember enough to ask for specific toys, so I’d advise decluttering with them past that age (unless the toy is broken or a party favor or something like that). They’ll probably keep more than you’d like them to but less than you expect, especially once they trust that you’ll respect their decisions on what to keep. If they think their toys might disappear any time they leave the house, they tend to cling to everything whether they actually want it or not.
I can’t believe Sutton is almost two already! ❄️ those cookies look so good! ❄️ I wonder if one of those air ionizers would work to plug into an outlet in your room m would help with how dusty your rooms and other rooms are 🤔 Great video Catherine! ❄️
I hate bugs someone told me to use peppermint oil and spray all the cracks and doorway windows and so forth. I have been doing this and so far I haven't seen any bugs in my house. Also make it kinda strong and dilute with water of coarse.
Thanks for the motivation! I’ve got all my presents, and I wrap as they arrive, too! Wish I could curl up with some of your choc chip cookies, hot cocoa and a Christmas movie! 🎄❤️
If you fold your duvet before you put it in the dryer it dries significantly faster. I know it sounds weird but it really does help. Dryer balls help too, I use 6 for blankets/duvet inserts
I didn't get a good look at the spider because I was laying down with my eyes closed until you said something about it, but from what it could tell it looks like a wolf spider, which are good boys...they don't bite, don't make webs to clean up, and eat bugs...the bugs are attracting them... Other than brown recluse and black widows, you don't have to worry about spiders being harmful, but they do point out a greater issue with bugs...idk what kind of bugs you have but they are attracting the spiders because the spiders eat them...
You do such an amazing job with everything. I love your videos so much! Weird question- I love those socks you’re wearing lol! They look so cozy! Where are they from?
Loved this video, Catherine. My kids are the same age range as yours, and we are also working on our playroom right now. The spider made me cringe - we get those in our basement as well 😣 Do you have a link for the playroom rug?
16:53 how much grams is a stick of butter in the USA? We don‘t have „sticks“ here in Germany. Our packages are a different form (250 grams) or the butter is filled in different containers. How much grams stands behind the brown sugar? 247 grams? Sorry, I can‘t read it 🙈
Here you go! 380g all purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon sea salt 2 sticks unsalted butter (room temp) 100g sugar 247g light brown sugar 2 teaspoons vanilla 2 large eggs (room temp) 340 grams chocolate chips (1/2 milk chocolate chips & 1/2 semi sweet chocolate chips) 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees 2. Beat butter, sugar, & brown sugar for 2 minutes 3. Add vanilla & eggs 4. Combine flour, baking soda & salt into separate bowl & whisk together 5. Add flour mix into wet ingredients gradually 6. Add chocolate chips 7. Bake 11-13 minutes (I usually do 13 minutes) 8. Cool 5 minutes on the sheet and then move to wire rack

Good call on no tags. I remember sneaking peeks in the packages as a kid. 😉
Fun video!!! I'm kind of militant about Parents having a nice room, they work SO hard.
I get it! I wish I was like that haha

Great tips unless you have fur babies than I definitely would advise against it

I bought that pizza set for my son maybe 2 or 3 Christmas ago he absolutely still loves it. He is 5 still plays with it.

Hi Catherine! Those chocolate chip cookies look so yummy! I can’t wait to try your recipe!
They’re the best!! I hope you like them!
I don't think kids even notice when you get rid of things, it usually the parents who don't want to let it go.

@@CatherineElaineyes! I was just about to say, I think age plays into it too. Our oldest will notice something in an instant !

Thank you so much 🫶🏻🥹

Very interesting!! I haven’t done lots of research on spiders but that’s good to know. We have so much work to do sealing up the basement.
@@CatherineElaine I wish you the best of luck!!!
Great video, Catherine 👍. I was wondering if you would find a spider in the basement playroom. I can't stand bugs. Have a great day.
You do such an amazing job with everything. I love your videos so much! Weird question- I love those socks you’re wearing lol! They look so cozy! Where are they from?
Thank you!! I believe I got them on Amazon but it was awhile ago! I want to say years ago so I’m not sure I could find them again
👍😀❤
Where did you get your duvet? I love that it’s thin
