That's a very good idea and for anyone watching this who doesn't know, in this particular situation you want to use a spray bottle type of leak detector. You spay a solution onto the joint you've just put together and if you see bubbles form you have a gas leak. One well known detector is Camco 10324 Gas Leak Detector. You could also make your own solution from dishwashing detergent combined with tap water and use that, just make sure it's heavy solution. The Camco product is probably less messy.
My Lg store have front burners, they turn the gas on before the ignition starts to spark, The knobs been bumped before and never lit the burner. My wife came home from work hours later to smell gas in the house. LG has done nothing!!! This was a very expensive stove.

RC is there anyway to test the valve before replacing? Assuming it is not electrical, can I just add PSI to it and see it it blows through or not?
