- First time listening to Brad Paisley - "Ticks". Lysi almost quits youtube after realizing what the song is about ! Thank you for watching with us as always.
THAT’S BRAD! He will make you laugh with something silly like this, and when your guard is down, he will hit you square in the gut with a heart wrenching song. He’s one of the best.

I'm going to suggest "Tequilla Makes Her Clothes Fall Off" by Joe Nichols. I'd strongly recommend the official video. It completely changes the meaning of the song. Glad to see you having fun with this reaction. Country music does have a history with songs that have an undercurrent which could offend people if not well done.

One of the things I've always loved about country is it sense of humor! Yeah I don't think he's really looking for tics lol and now years after this song released people are so overly sensitive about every little thing. Someone will get offended and try to cancel Brad over a fun song like this instead of just saying I'm not going to listen to Brad Paisley. But there's a whole lot of people who still think it's clever and probably wouldn't mind their boyfriend doing a little checking for tics. 😅

This was the first Brad Paisley song I heard, and I didn't know the title. I was like, " wtf did he just say?" It took me a minute to figure out this was supposed to be a funny song. Fell in love with Brad then!
One thing about Brad. His songs are either real heartfelt or just funny nutty songs.
And he's one of the best guitarists out there, bar none!

🤷♂️ you have to remember out where some of us live a good date is walking in the woods, looking at the stars, fishing by a bonfire etc. My town for example we used to have a drive in move theater and that was it for entertainment. Took 25 years for us to get the new one 😂

City folks just don't get it. He's not saying she has ticks but if you go out romping around in the woods and fields of wild flowers you're bound to pick up a few. That actually happens. So yeah you need somebody to check the places you can't. It's really a country way of saying he wants to get his hands on her. Those ticks like the soft spots. Behind your knees is about as far as they get but they do get under your arms the crook of your arm the nape of your neck... all the tender parts.

It is a fun video and it is supposed to be funny when he says "he is classy" and then wants to check the girl for ticks.
What would he do? Do you actually think a country boy - actually anybody who lives in the country - would be grossed out by that???!!! He'd pick it up & smash it between 2 hard surfaces....which is how you kill ticks. Probably use his old Redbone knife. Then he'd go look for more. I'm a 77 y.o. woman & I think this song is hilarious.
