Looks like the other students we're proud of Jean because of their work being displayed on national television.
That’s creepy
@@angelahoffman270Bruh, it was the 1970s.
@@matthewthescienceguy7627 I know but I didn’t ask
And were horrified when they saw it.
0:13 bruh. Look. Not scary? And WHY DOES IT RING NBC PEACOCK’S FEATHERS
YESSS thank you so much for uploading this!! The color version of the Mandela Peacock has been my holy grail for a long time so the All Stars compilation was a huge discovery lol
Absolutely beautiful! Now I know the full details of this once mysterious Peacock that looked like it was drawn by a small child. That's because it was a small child that drew it. Too bad the other peacocks were rejected. If I were a president of NBC, I would have picked peacock #2 drawn by Kathy Ahern. I think that peacock is exotic, mysterious, and a little bit spooky, but pretty, but one had to be chosen, and I'm glad that Jean Falcone got the airing. It looks more like a wild goose than a peacock in living color, and the eyes are a bit "derpy" looking (kind of like first season Big Bird of "Sesame Street" or MLP/FIM's Derpy Hooves with the shifting eyeballs, but it's appealing.) Of course, all of these kids, if they are still living today would be in their 60's-70's now. I don't remember channel 4 in Detroit (then known as WWJ, now WDIV) showing this special, but it must have aired in that city. Congratulations on finding an ultra rare NBC archive piece that was once considered lost, but is now found.
Carol Sones (16) 0:07
Julian Goodman was the NBC President at the time and chose Peacock #3.
@@JHollowayNetwork I liked peacock #2 better, but Julian was the boss at the time, so it was his choice.
Horray for Jean Falcone! I'm so impressed that a 6-year-one could make it into television. Now i don't think Jean Falcone would see this, but if this is you, then congrats! You made the most impressive, yet scary to some people, film logo!
Those children who worked on these were probably proud of what they did and what they saw, I wish the Yellow Ball workshop still is in business
that awkward moment when a kid outsmarts teens at *_L O G O S_*
The only bad thing I can think of this is that the other contestants’ hard work were just left to rot and be forgotten through time. I’m not saying that Jean’s version is bad, it’s still pretty nice for a 6 year old.
Deirdre's is the most unnerving imo
These kids did a good job animating this for NBC!
These are at least more creative and individualistic than the slavish re-creations of 70s and 80s logos you see whenever you’re trying to find the real ones. I was part of the logo groups in the early days of the Internet. We took this seriously because we were the ones who were measuring the real world impact of all of these media mergers. Now, the comment section of every logo and network ID is a dumpster fire of perseveration and spam even when you find OGs and not remakes.
The next step in logo preservation is seeing whether AI video and audio restoration and up conversion tools will get to the point where they can make crappy multi-generation VHS and beta tapes actually look better or at least remove the effects of time, poor compression, and dubs of dubs. The problem is the subscription model for software is an abomination.
@@Attmay True.
Fun Fact: That intro animation with the fish and the worm came from a short called "Just a Fish Ment of my Imagination", which was made by Carol Sones (the creator of one of the NBC IDs). The short was included on the vimeo upload of "Yellow Ball All Stars".
I just realized that, but a long bit too late for that. (sadness)
Can You Find The Colour Version Of "Just a Fish Ment Of My Imagination"
Please?
You Need The Upload!
I don’t think the Vemo upload has that.
Here is a UA-cam upload of the short: m.ua-cam.com/video/HvujxZdvHag/v-deo.html
1:05 THAT SCARED ME
0:24 I REFUSE To Beleve That That Was Made By A 6 Year-Old; It Just Looks Too Good!
1:05 but like that is very very scary
0:24 Eric Carle peacock
Kathy’s creation has to be the best one I’ve seen. But Jean’s creation is good too.
This is SO cool! Thank you for uploading this. I always loved that NBC peacock and music since I was a kid!
They all look beautiful, at least, in my opinion.
WAIT A MINUTE… THERE NOT THE NBC PEACOCKS!

I love the first one!!
Shame the audio is so distorted
Not you
The third one just needed a little work -- and a few color changes. Easy to see why it was chosen.

1:24 : This is the part where I attempt to sync up the Yellow Ball footage from a worn-out VHS that contains The New Communicators 2, where the ident was used.
0:55 WHAT THE HELL
Are some of the kids still alive?
Probably living with their lives, lying low.
@@iamnothale well that’s good that they have hidden themselves so they don’t get too much

I totally get it💀

Those peacocks look nothing like the NBC peacock.
Don't be so harsh. It's an art project for a TV arthouse programme commissioned by NBC.
They should do something like this now.
Do not particularly find soothing the soulless eyes of the B&W version of the third one. The unusual video bug is not helping.
They are trying to keep people from stealing content that didn’t actually belong to the uploaders in the first place.
I'm pretty sure intentionally damaging part of the TV history does *not* count as a watermark.
