- Peak District motorbike ride, including the awesome 'Snake Pass Road', a road made for riding!
A 70 mile loop, starting from Bakewell. 'Snake Pass' road is on the A57, crossing the Pennines between 'Glossop' & the 'Ladybower Reservoir' at 'Ashopton'.
My favourite ride to date along with the 'Cat & Fiddle' road in my previous vid.
I'm riding the BMW R1250GS 21', if you haven't ridden the 'Snake Pass' yet it's definitely a bucket list road to ride along with the 'Cat & Fiddle' Road also in the Peak District.

Next time you head up the snakes pass ride give me a shout as I’m Leicestershire way too
Nice one Tony, a great place to visit & within reasonable distance of the Midlands. Thanks for the shout out & I'll bear it in mind 👍
I was watching your speed. It's clearly not one to rush but just relax and enjoy, probably a trip suited to the Enfield
Certainly is scenic carving through the mountain/large hill I'm not sure which, but yes its spectacular on a sunny day with the sun shining over the Lady Bower reservoir & through the foresty section. Thanks for the comment 👍
thank you for locations to visit ..looks very interesting.. done snake pass many times ,, so ill obviously check those too
Your very welcome. Snake Pass is a popular one. Given the choice, I'd be heading upto the Lake District or Wales for some of those great routes. Im just currently editing my Distinguished Gentlemens Ride last Sunday but I hope to be doing a very interesting route after that?!
I'm lucky to live close to the Glossop side of this, every bike i own i take it down the snake to Castleton first. Cannot beat it!
How jealous am I! I bet you never get bored of riding that route..
@@DazmatronMotorcycleTrips honestly no! I've just slowed down a lot nowadays :)
Just found your channel and subscribed. Great video 👍🏍🏁
Hi John, thanks for subscribing & kind comments. Yes I agree, such great roads around the Peak District its as if they were made for bikers. Ive just done the south Ludlow Loop today but found it not a match. Weather was a tad cool too! As soon as weather picks up will be out again.
Even with a car on a sunny day its an amazing drive ive drove both with my first car (vauxhall corsa 1l hahaha) and my second car (audi a4 2.0d) both of the times loved it equally
I can imagine that Oxygen, either mode of transport would be pleasurable like u say even in a Corsa! Such I great road. Thanks for the comment 👍
ride the sake with respect, or she bite's
Definitely, couldn't agree more with you Burnt Grillz 👍
i hate to say it but motorcyclists kill the enjoyment of that road, always speeding and overtaking dangerously. I can't risk riding my mountain bike down it anymore because of how close the bikes come when passing.
Hi Billy, sorry to hear about your experiences, its dissapointing that you feel its too dangerous to cycle there anymore. It is a very popular road isn't it. The Highway Code has been rewritten to help protect pedestrians & cyclists, there will always be individuals that ignore the rules & treat it like a race track. I think the majority of motorcyclists are reasonably respectful of cyclist/pedestrians & horses, I nearly come to a stop when I pass horses. I use a helmet camera for vlogging but can capture motorists that are neglectful of motorcycles. I like the Police campaign quote 'Share the Roads'.
