  • The new PSR-E273 will hopefully begin a whole new generation of great home keyboards from Yamaha. The sounds of the previous upper-end models have apparently passed down to this new entry-level model (as you'll see in this demo), so hopefully this means we'll be seeing some exciting new sounds in the models that will inevitably follow! The 273 is a great start.

    Wow great sound quality. If Yamaha made the lcd backlit it make it easier to read in the dark also that could have also added flash memory for style files unless they already did.😎😁😁

    Those are the standard XG sounds, you can get for decades. The PSR-373 hopefully comes with new sounds.

    Hi Glynn, now it is time to get hold of a PSR E373 or EW310 and try to use it in a non-conventional way. I am sure we can trust you in that matter. 😉

      Hmm, maybe... I'm wondering how much I could really do though, without those dynamic controllers... I'll certainly be giving it my best, though. I left a message with Yamaha two days ago asking if/when there was going to be a PSR-E473 ....no reply...

    come on yamaha, this is 2020 not 2001. these sounds are so out of date. and so are the styles. given the fact this keyboard was only designed for school use I very much doubt the psr e373 or psr e474 will fail to appeal to consumers. better stick with the last moddels. as these will fail massively in the next coming weeks. I would get bored with this keyboard in about a minute. and those demo songs are also out of date. no offence but the psr e463 is still the better option. I do not see any of these keyboards improving any time soon. just look at casio

      The grand piano sound is the main selling point of ANY keyboard, no one really cares about the other sounds or effects unless they can't really play piano all that well, the PSR series sells the most keyboards out of any manufacturer in it's price range, the XG sound source that Yamaha has been using since 1990 is the reason that they sell so well and that they're so iconic, the professional grade PSR E and S series keyboards also have the XG sound engine

      No offence taken at all, Jordan, in fact I agree 100% with all those comments.

      That’s what grand pianos and digital pianos are for. When it comes to keyboard, most people care about all the sounds.

      @@jadenpina3989 the grand piano sample is always the VERY first sound you hear when you turn any synthesizer on, all of the manufacturers boast about how good their piano samples are on all of their instruments, why do you think very few people buy Casio or William's gear? Because the piano sounds are subpar, Casio has always had better features than Yamaha but Yamahas piano sounds are a lot better which is why they sell more, nobody wants a synth with a lousy piano sample.....

    400 preset sounds, eh? Portable home keyboards have come a LOOOONG way! And the price is rather cheap at $130USD retail right now. Seems to be the going rate for alot of these home keyboards.

    • @gearfacts
      @gearfacts  4 роки тому +2

      Yep it seems they shifted the entire sound set down from the 3** series. So I'm hoping that coming models with the "7" in the middle (373, 473 etc) will take us a step further!

      @@kristinehayes4885 I feel your pain. In Puerto Rico it was that way for a long time but then in 1987-88, The prices started to come down and be more reasonable. Still higher than the mainland USA but better than 2 or 3 times retail at least.

      @@gearfacts Well I have never really played any of the more modern Yamaha portables, so I do not know about all that. The cheesy PSR 195,175, and so on are the only modern versions I own. Everything else is 1980s Yamaha for me! I do have a DJX2 and PSR200 but again.. older tech. So the newer versions have multiple hundreds of sounds,and some are editable to a degree? NON of the older 1990s PSR home keyboards had that in the low end prices. You could get a PSR-530 for $650USD in 1997 but who had that kind of money back then? Not me! Now I can sport 400 tones with some editing, a song recorder AND effects? All for $130!?? Heck nah..
